u guys..how about the iphone battery..it is last long?? my battery kong already in a day..then i want ask when i go to usage in setting why my time since last full charge is empty

If you wanna extend your battery lifetime, you should switch off the WIfi, Bluetooth and edge

Mine is quite good..But I dun listen to music. Just only calls.
Can go up to 2 and 1/2 days.

i think because you somehow restarted your spring board after you fully charge your iphone.

Depends wat you do with your iphone daily,and the usage
even you pun into ur pc to sync some media into your iphone,it will turn to empty.

isnt the iphone charging while connected to pc..?

4 scenarios for u :-

1) i surf alot with iphone. About 5hours of surfing
2) if alot of calls (as im a sales), can use 1 full day (w/o wifi, bluetooth)
3) (with bluetooth) about 12-16hours depending on no. of calls.
4) i estimated standby time with less calls about 2days no problem.

Remember to disable TTY mode. It seriously eats up a lot of battery.
Settings>Phone>TTY>off

install BossPref and disable Wifi, EDGE there. longger batery life

Actually wat is that TTF stand for?it only show a phone and dot on the top of iphone.

Hey, i saw alot of BossPref at installer. How does this work? If disable Wifi, can we on back using BossPref? i told usually at Settings>Wifi already turn off ma. So how it eat up the batt?

BossPref is basicly a control manager that control all EDGE, Wifi, Bluetooth, SSH, Mail, etc2 in one application. just 1 tap u can turn on or off all of those setting without go into the setting/Wi-Fi or setting/general setting/network to change them.

for the battery to last longer its depend of your usage. from my experiance, Wifi and video will eat the batery the most

Use bosspref only. The other bosspref are plugins for the main app.

My battery would last 3 days with normal usage i.e calls, less than 2 hours of wifi, ipods and games. I did a test by turning all of the radio signal to see how long it can stand. That test last for 2 days. But as a reminder, i've already change my battery before this.

Since the iphone battery is not changeable~how if is it spoiled? send back to apple? and how many years estimated to die?

Quick charge only takes 2 hrs... it will charge up to 80%... for full charge you need to charge for about 5 hrs...

Do adjust your screen brightness too... if you use dark color theme it can help to preserve battery life...

i still remember i have a friend said that the iphone battery is super good. every morning he is driving car from shah alam to cyberjaya and listern song, until reach company continue busy to make call or receive call, lunch time have to check for email and chit chat with msn... when go home that time continue listern song. and it can use for 3 days with single charge. i remember he tell me that firmware will help saving power. but i forgot to ask at which version. anywhere, my 16GB iphone is on the way from chicago...hehe soon will test it and let u guys know.

It was pretty good for me,as a secondary student i seldom use my iphone when morning time,
but afternoon i use dam alot of Wifi and ipod at the same time,it work better than my Hp laptop.

So on average the battery lifespan is between 2-3 days? Hope there's some improvement in battery for the 2nd gen iPhone as it has 3G functions and maybe GPS etc. Yeah, waiting for my 2 x 16GB iPhone 3G too

mine 3++ days only ...but if full wi-fi downloading/installing 1 day only. install BossPrefs to turn on/off the edge

i do hv the "E" icon ..but the thing is me is sure me dun hv EDGE..as if me dun connect to wifi network, sure cannot view webpages

Not in a position to answer that, but it only makes sense that if your SIM card do not support EDGE and you have turned it off, it shouldn't appear.

The "E" or just square box is just an indicator. It will always be there even if u turn off the EDGE in bosspref or didn't subscribe to any of the service. Its just like the Signal bar ... showing what connection available in that particular area. If u want to remove it completely, then u can delete the image file. But then u don't know what service is available later.

Nevertheless, my iPhone sometimes can last 2 days sometimes 3. And i had make myself a conclusion....

USB charge = 2 days
Power supply = 3 days

If i need to charge it upgently USB can do the job well within 2 hours+ but the battery do not state how many percent charged like the MMP

I also use my own money to buy this iphone my parents dint give any money also...

Mine is UK set,so the power adapter is same as malaysia plug,so i seldom use USB except when i sync my data then

i've been using ori firmware can last for 4 days max, but after format it and use other firmware battery drop very fast, can last for 1 day only...im wondering what actually happen.

maybe someone can advice for this.

F/W 1.1.2 brings a change in the power management over 1.1.1 dat makes it last longer with a boost to the internal processor. Then we see again a change in the power management for F/W 1.1.4 as it improves more from 1.1.2.

i've been using F/W 1.1.4 from apple site which last for 1-2 days only (downloaded and reformat my iphone)

Previously use F/W 1.1.4 also from ori iphone which they claim it's the same with apple website, checked the firmware ,latest F/W 1.1.4 actually contain more files than old one. we can SSH to check the files
im wondering maybe they fix something for firmware 1.1.4

but for sure before this my iphone can last for 4 days on normal usage..now 1 day only... big difference u know.....
all application same..setting also same all edge disabled and email check all disabled, still last for 1 day only ..

yes F/W got ori and not ori version u can use other people F/W 1.1.4 which can download from torrent . they custom their own F/W 1.1.4 firmware including the system files as well.
maybe u should try it.

I still don't get it with ori firmware and not ori firmware. I know the one u said can download from torrent, thats call custom firmware (still ori but customized) but only can use with pwned iPhone. I don't trust custom firmware from others. Who knows what they put in there. Don't simply download custom firmware from torrent. I do my own custom firmware.

How did u compare the new ones contains more files than the old? After restore (SSH in and see files and folder) or before restore (compare IPSW files)? As i know ... the stock (ori) firmware is the same and not been modified by apple in any way.

Maybe u can try one thing. Download the firmware straight from apple website, restore and just jailbreak/unlock and activate. Don't install any other app. Test and see how long it last. Maybe some of the app really suck on your battery.

I've been using stock (ori) firmware and custom firmware (winpwn), both last 2 days with everything on (wifi, edge, bluetooth, SSH).

hmm..i wonder hw leh when our iphones batt power turun..

Nowadays the iphone battery replace tool is available.

But that no warranty on us,so if we did the wrong step when replace the battery,

Mean the iphone will be useless or become spare part for others.

ok guys here's some experiment done by using my own iphone yesterday

i download FW 1.1.4 from apple web and used Ziphone to jailbreak and unlock.

so far so good ,the battery wont drop so fast for now , before this my phone always so hot i think the application running behind must be alot and the battery drop very fast.
( all setting remain the same)

but 1 more thing....my iphone tadak sound... anyone can clarify this please?all the previous problem gone...new problem pop up

will try other firmware and post here soon,will select the best firmware and post it here

after unlock + jailbreak with iLiberty, i find that my battery is more lasting! i gonna leave it and see how many days it can last~!

wat matter most is when u fully charge your iphone u should see how much is the battery voltage..should be around 4185 + if im not mistaken..do remember all battery is the same..meaning of charging is u charge to the maximum capacity and when discharging meaning the voltage will gradually go lower(discharging) and when reach zero then no more battery for u...do remember battery hv a life cycle so time to time u should see the max voltage charged would drop..if its drop drastically then u know the battery is near kong...that is my understanding on the battery...correct me if im wrong

Fluctuation in voltage is normal if its within its range. Our battery is rated 3.7V or 3700. It depends on our usage when it fluctuates. Make sure it doesn't go below 3600 or over 4200 (or 4500, can't remember) then its ok.

ok something is seriously wrong.I have never seen my battery power drop so fast.Its 1 pm and it's 50%.Started using at 7.30 pm.Charged overnight.Like usual.Basic browsing.I upgraded to 1.1.4 using Ziphone 3.0 and my bootloader is 4.6 so to maintain that i used ziphone 2.4 to unlock.All ok.But my battery level is seriously dropping.Is it due to the way i a/j/u or could it be due to sim card...anyone

if you have Sysinfo application running on your iphone, you can check whether there is other process that is also run. Jailbreak/unlock method should not effect battery usage since it is only 1 time actions.

The best way to know your battery performance is not by how many days it can last but how many hours can you squeeze the juice out from it. Mine would last for 3 days with 8 hours of usage untill the 20% battery warning. If your phone only last for 1 day but u used it for 8 hours then its considered ok .. well for me it is.

How to check usage time? Go to settings and usage. If its less then 1 day of standby and less than 4 hour of usage then something is wrong. Either an app is sucking the battery or something else. Hope that explain about the battery usage.

i charged my iphone last night,around 12 midnight,,then when i woke up in the morning,,i checked my battery info,,its already 85%,where 15% gone?? my iphone in standby mode last night,,aiya..

just wait for singapore runch, then can change over there loh.

i am the heavy user for safari, email, video, music....and games. 15 to 35 calls a day, then can use for 1.5 day. but i still prefer to charge everyday, because i dont have car charger lah.. haha
