I'm more into rock & jazz:
Jazz recommendations:
1.For classic jazz, Dave Brubeck quartet Time Out is a gem, with HDCD encoding. It ranked high in my CD player playlist.
2.I always fancied Chet Baker jazz singing & trumpeting, brings the ambient into the room. Feels like you are in the 50s/60s although i'm not born yet. Really touch my emotion. Too bad most of the recordings are not that good, most in mono. BTW I dun fancy modern jazz...
3.Siri's Svale Band - Blackbird, damn good jazz audiophile recording, even recommended in stereophile list of best recordings. Good vocal & instruments. I am looking at the other album, hard to find even online...
4. I enjoyed punk rock too, The Clash, Rancid, NOFX due to their melodious rhythm but most is not sonically recorded well.
5.Classical: Ein Straussfest- light enough for beginners.
6.Acoustic pop - Frente - marvin the album
7.Rebecca Pidgeon - Raven. Good recording, but music so so only lar. Typical audiophile CD.
8.Mainstream music
Coldplay, Linkin park, Papa roach, 3 doors down, Collective soul, Norah jones.
I found Bread-Essentials album sounds so good (70s)
Carpenters - good singing/vocal
I believe good music should be enjoyed, irregardless of the sound quality.
