It really depends for Multimedia. There's so many things you can go for. It's kinda like a "Jack of All Trades, Master of None".
In Malaysia though, the pay has really stagnated with fresh grads lucky to get the starting 2.5k as some companies would negotiate lower.
Then again, there are some jobs that start off with a higher pay, but then you get what you're getting paid for and those jobs require more professionalism and study time. (Eg. Doctors, Engineers. etc...the ones they call the core careers)

I took up MM, and ended up working in an events company. Mostly doing 3D layouts and some Graphic Design, but I also get the opportunity to head out to events. This is mainly because I am the active type. Can't sit in office all the time and just stare at a screen. My office was kind to let me pick up emcee-ing for when I'm on duty at events.

So yeah, it just depends on the person. Plenty of jobs out there. You're young you can try anything.

p.s.: But then, I have friends who graduated with MM degree, ended up doing customer call center and ended up as team leader. They enjoy it, so it really is up you.
