my colleague did 3-6 concept art paintings (with nice lighting, color mood and great finishing) per day, for the entire year. You say yours is peanut or not?

Hello everyone, I'm a graduate from TOA, digital animation and. Currently am a lecturer and working in the video game industry.

I joined the animation course in TOA back in the day just because I loved art and I loved drawing. And most of the things I drew were related to subject the course (animation) provided.

So in short, ask yourself what you love, and work your butt of to make what you love something you can live with smile.gif

Hi guys, I'm a 2011 SPM candidate. I want to further my studies to TOA after I get my SPM results (Unless I get a scholarship to go overseas) and I want to take the Digital Animation diploma programme. I have the passion for it and I have already been learning Maya and After Effects, I already have some personal works. I know this Uni is the best I could go in Malaysia for this course.

**EDIT** I found this answer by searching the thread smile.gif
CODE
1 thing that bothers me at the moment is that, the requirement for enrollment requires A portfolio comprising one landscape or still-life composition (colour drawing, any size). I never took art in secondary school. I can draw portraits but not Colour drawings. Can it just be colour pencil? Painting? Pastel? What did you guys present when you enrolled into the uni? Is the chance of not getting accepted high?

Anyway, what's the fees for the Diploma in Digital Animation programme? I tried downloading the fee structure, but all I got was "Coming Soon" =,=

Also I saw that we have to undergo a drawing test. Hows the drawing test?

Thank you guys for your time. Really appreciate it smile.gif

Been doodling around... tongue.gif

Like inachi said, and they'll give you a magazine or some reference to draw, and it is a portrait drawing. And make sure you do work up your English, especially the conversational ones. Majority of the questions involves situational and anecdotal elements (like how you're talking or responding to a person), it's not easy if you're blunt at that. It's not like writing an essay.

Thanks for the reply! I think for the English part, I'm not worried, I'm quite fluent in English. Just a bit worried about the drawing part. How much time is given? I do draw portrait, but I'm quite new to it so I tend to take up some time in drawing :/

Also just wondering, are the courses at TOA accredited by MQA?

@inachi,
Yep, OH- meant that.

@OH-,
Ok, you are confident with your English. For the drawing part, you don't have to worry about the time. You can take as long as you want, as long as you finish it( of course you wouldn't want to spend your whole day there doing it). I finished mine within 4 hours. Funny thing was that there was this clerk in charge who joked with us about the time limit and that there will be deductions in marks/points, kinda spooked us at first. blush.gif

Accreditations on their courses are obviously confirmed, who else would even go if they are not genuinely certified?
Here's the link MQA (TOA courses)
