damnnn... i would love 2 get 1 of this set when it comes out but i would hate 2 flush all the cash it will costs.
btw, they should change the name ler. why is it called guitar hero when it consists of guitar, drums, bass and mic? should called it band hero or gig hero or theonlywayyoucanplaymusicalinstruments hero. This post has been edited by SHOfrE3zE: May 17 2008, 02:16 PM |

Whoops! Wrong link!
It's from here: http://www.guitarheronews.com/ Sorry sorry....... But the cool parts, as quoted from that site: QUOTE Multiple Instruments! Sounds super SWEET!!!!!!!!Guitar Hero 4 is taking an obvious step it needs to take at this point in the series by adding more instruments to the game in order to compete with Rock Band. It is said that the game will feature The Guitar (of course), Bass guitar, Drums, and Microphone. I mean we all knew it had to happen and was going to, but I am definitely excited to play Guitar Hero with multiple instruments. Everyone knows how incredibly fun the drums are on Rock band. Confirmed Bands for Guitar Hero 4! There is also information about bands that will be featured in the new game and although there has only been a couple of bands mentioned that will be in the game, the list is looking damn good. Confirmed so far: * Van Halen * The Eagles * Linkin Park * Sublime I mean 3 of the 4 just mentioned are just awesome. I am not sure, but I would imagine The Eagles would be bringing Hotel California to the game which is a great song. Van Halen is just sweet and have a bunch of good songs. And Sublime is amazing also. I hope they get Santeria from Sublime. I personally don’t like Linkin Park very much, but who knows, maybe playing their songs will be sweet. It looks like Activision is listening to the fans becuase I have seen tons of requests for those bands to be included in the game. Create A Song Feature! I was personally not expecting this one. Apparently you will now be able to create your own songs to play!!!!! I guess they also saw all the modding and hacking that has been going on with the previous Guitar Hero Games and they decided to make it a feature. I think you can only modify the songs that are already on the game unfortunately. It would be sweet to be able to do your own songs somehow. The only thing that you can’t mess with is the songs vocals due to possible storage and copyright issues. And once you are all done making your new song all sweet, you will then be able to upload your songs so that other Guitar Hero Players can download and play your masterpieces. Guitar Hero 4 will be released for PS3. XBOX 360, Wii, and PS2 and is due to be released Fall 2008. - Create a song. Although these exclude vocals due to storage and possible copyright issues. - You'll be able to name your song as well as creating album art. After you've done all that you can upload it to GH Tunes where anyone can download it. - You'll be limited to 5 songs at first. But depending on the ratings you get you'll possibly be able to upload 10 or more. - The song sharing mode will be in the Wii and PS2 versions also, but GI says it's unlikely that it'll be as robust as the PS3 and 360 versions. - Drums, bass, vocals guitar - Create a rocker - Create a guitar and drums - All songs will be master tracks - They don't want to discuss specifics on track listing out of fear of being scooped by the competition. However they confirmed 4 bands: Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime. - A new guitar designed by Red Octane that includes a new input mechanic that'll "impact the way you play GH in the future". - GI saw see through notes while playing that Neversoft said was the new input mechanic and that they were trying to patent. Read through some parts of the posted article and yes it is fantastic that they are taking this direction. The drums look good but the pedal still looks flimsy.
And completely wireless too! woohoo! My only problem with it? At least acknowledge Rock Band got it right. They were being so defensive that it sounded borderline sour grapes to me. |

I just hope the guitar parts are still awesome, otherwise, they should call it Band Hero or something....
I love that Guitar Hero 3 is completely separate experience from Rock Band, ie: Killer Guitar parts that seems to be lacking in Rock Band. But then again, Rock Band is a great party game..... So you can say GH3 is for the competitive people, while Rock Band is more of a group Co-op game. But the more I read the article, the more I think that Guitar Hero 3 will be the last true competitive Guitar Hero game....... Oh well, here's to the future! |

I'm very disappointed that Gibson is NOT going to have their guitars in the game. Part of the reason why I love the game was because I REALLY love Gibson guitars.
And it's more sad that NO OTHER COMPANY is picking up the slack..... Not ESP, not Ibanez, not Schecter.......... very very very sad indeed. Accidental star power is the answer. But, I wanna see how gameplay has evolved even though we have a good way of saying that having new instruments changes the way we play.
I rather the tile become Guitar Hero: The Band. |

Heck, I'm having troubles with playing it on a real guitar...... I doubt it'll be much easier in GH.
Sometimes it's easier to play songs on a real guitar because of what musicians call "muscle memory", in which we automatically play the notes due to constant practicing. Guitar Hero is a little different in the sense that we have only 5 buttons where the notes is not fixed to it. If you find the time to memorize, you're memorizing the patterns, rather then the notes. So to sum it up, it's easier to memorize real guitar parts then it is to memorize Guitar Hero parts. At least, to me it works that way. |

As long as Activision doesn't blueballs Asian gamers like what EA did with Rock Band, one unit of GH4 is almost certain to end up in my room.
Ohhh, IGN has a trailer for the new drumset. Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland and Travis Barker gave thumbs up to it. -SemiOT post- blacktrix, the new axe looks like a mix of ESP neck and '51 P-Bass body, yes? |

oh i think you can get custom faceplates just about anywhere on the internet.
there's one place that can even let you make one from a picture you have. i think blacktrix's one(the one i saw at the gamer's hideout thing) was from red octane's website.they've got some crap ones that you'll learn to adore. |

I actually made my own
Found a shop in Sungai Wang that can make custom stickers. So I gave him my design, printed it out, and then cut it to match the LP's faceplate and whacked it on. Had to very patiently put it on, because of all the air bubbles....... |

Well, to each it's own, but I think Guitar Hero: World Tour has much much MUCH more advantage over Rock Band 1.
Besides, if you would get Rock Band, you're going to end up spending more for the crap loads of DLC that's available. If that's not enough to convince you... maybe you should read this IGN article: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/916/916822p1.html |

nah i'm eventually gonna get guitar hero world tour.
i personally just like the rock band drums, which is why i'm getting that first. because i know i'm going to end up having both games, and i'd rather not play rock band with the gh world tour drums, because of imbalance of the tracks(ie,hitting a tom with the physical cymbal). also ROCK BAND DLC IS TEH SECKS!! especially with blood sugar sex magick and moving pictures. |

Again, debatable. I'm used to a REAL drum kit, with elevated cymbals. That's just how I (drum) roll
But I have heard people liking Rock Band's drum kit instead. Just wait for Rock Band 2's drum kit lah....... at least can add in cymbals later. |

no the rb1 can add cymbals too,but this debate can go on till the end of time.
i don't want to wait and i don't like the guitar hero drums,so i'm going with the rock band drums. rock band drums fit just fine for guitar hero, but guitar hero just confuses it all.... your decision,my decision. NOW MAKE ME A BAND OR MAKE ME A SAMMICH!! |

my mom says RM888 for the full set is too much,so i'm splitting the bill with my siblings and buying only the drums, because my friend has a spare mic and i have a gh guitar. yoink! so yeah, wait about a little over the week. So, I'll put my RB DLC experience there since I already downloaded a (free) song long2 time ago. Meanwhile, pre-order your GHWT at GH fast2. ed said the pre-order list for WT is being filled rather fast. |

to ben, read up on what me and blacktrix were talking about earlier in this thread, and i have been ranting about where to get rock band and how much it costs.
when i said full bundle,i forgot to add that it comes without the game.... apparently some people on the gamefaqs boards claim to have world tour already and have edible proof that they actually do. they've got videos and stuff, but it appears to be that they only have the game,as they're playing with rock band drums. or is it that they share the same preference as me? whatever it is,i saw 4 tracks. Guys, bad new is Guitar Hero: World Tour will be delay till mid November. And good new is, know that recently US launch have lots of complain about the drum kit and the guitar. So, good new is Activision recall all the bundle for reproduction and fix the problem. Well, worry no more for getting GH:WT now. Remember to pre-order now to get the *mystery gift (Officially Licensed Guitar Hero Noise Reducing Drumstick) and Awesomeness T-Shirt. Only at GH store. Cheer
*Yes, All bundle will have Limited 7 days of warranty. This post has been edited by ed1001: Oct 30 2008, 02:13 PM |

I'm sorry.... but I can't see the appeal of playing the game with a regular gamepad controller.....
the whole concept of Guitar Hero (and Rock Band for that matter) is to FEEL like a Rock Star, even though you're playing with a plastic guitar/drum..... You just don't do justice to the game AT ALL with a controller. |

if you cant see it, please dont assume everybody cant see it.
there's a lot of ppl enjoying it with controller without even need to buy the guitar. and not everybody as enthusiast as u are to buy the guitar just to play the game, some of us just like to enjoy the game with ordinary controller. then whole concept of COD, GOW is to shoot for justice, then i dont see the appeal of shooting or being a hero with a gamepad? hahahaha... it's about the same bro. no offence. |

As I wrote earlier, GH pple said most probably this weekend. Itu pun not really confirmed.
To those who asking, as long as the game not yet arrived, you can pre-order it at GH I guess. RM 150 to pre-order, if I'm not mistaken. Biar lambat, asalkan selamat. |

Sharing my first impression. I bought the game only, PAL version. Playing on Asian console. NO region lock. Playing with GH3 guitar.
Really nice track list. Tried about 70% of them so far. The classics are really the best for me. My current favs are McCartney's Band on the Run, followed by Eye of the Tiger, Hotel California and downloaded Jessie's Girl (160 M$Points). The REM, Oasis, Nirvana and No Doubt tracks are nice too. The quality of the tracks and sound mastering is good. Blasted it way up and my subwoofer had a good workout. After buying then only I realised that you cannot play GHWT with the controllers (didn't read the posts earlier in this thread). So no way to play drums, guitar and bass with the basic controller (at least not to my knowledge). With GH3/Aero, you could play guitar/bass with the controller. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. If you log on to the game with the controller, it will assign you as the singer (i.e. mic) automatically. However, singing with the wireless headset is NOT a good idea. Somehow, the mic is not very sensitive and you would have to sing quite loud for the game to register your pitch. Maybe I will give the wired (default) headset a try later. Or just use my USB mic. Multiplayer is fun too. There's co-op mode which was fun, like playing in a band with online strangers. I'm not the competitive kind (i.e. read I'm a bloody noob who plays on Easy!), so Versus mode is not for me. Played with someone ranked 29, i was lead guitar, he was bass. Another guy played drums. No singer! lol. There are lots of tracks downloadable from the Guitar Hero online store, where players upload their tracks for others to download. However, the quality is nothing like the actual tracks on the game. They're more like MIDI-sounding quality (if u know what i mean). There's now a lot more characters and customisation you can do to your online rocker persona, including facial editing, hair, clothing, etc. Lots of fun, this GHWT. Peace. |

wassup terra. If theres one game that would take u away from fifa, is GH W.T. I bought mine also, for PS3 of course. Not really sure how to hit the slider notes though with the old GH guitar (I got the aerosmith version without the new sliders).
I read somewhere that u can use Rock Band Drum set with GH. Anyone can verify? Any1 know where I can get RockBand in Msia. In HK ada ke terra? |

You can order the whole Rock Band set from GH, or you can get it for around RM800 without the game at Software Boutique.

I notice the drums itself are solid, much more solid than RB's kit. But the drum stand is a let down. Wobbly.

do your strum bars feel squishy compared to les paul? i mean it plays fine but i hv to change my playin style a lil bit when i use the generi-caster. otherwise i'll b strumming without 'clicks' hence missing notes.

Hmmmmmmm....... maybe it's NOT the guitar problem, but just built that way..... have to change playing styles too......which is weird, because I used the same playing style from GH1-3...... SG, Explorer AND Les Paul guitars.... no problems.....
Also, like you guys said, the Orange Drum Cymbal must really be hit hard. Will try to download the Sensitivity adjuster program and see if it works. |

I just downloaded the program and used my own USB-MIDI interface..... now it's setup perfectly!
But big big red blister now formed on my hand Will still go down GH and see if their test guitar also same problem. If it is, that means the guitar is built that way. If it isn't, that means it's just isolated to my guitar. This post has been edited by blacktrix: Nov 14 2008, 12:48 PM |

You'll need a MIDI-USB Interface to tune it.... fortunately, I use one for my electric keyboard so it's the same thing.
Also, I found out almost ALL the guitars will double tap. Tried GH's one too and it's the same problem...... so looks like will have to modify it on my own BTW, the MIDI-USB interface costs around RM150 outside. You might find a MIDI-USB cable for cheaper though..... dunno if you can find that. This post has been edited by blacktrix: Nov 14 2008, 03:27 PM |

Downstrokes for me is ok.
It's when I strum down and then up, sometimes doesn't register or registers double. Added on November 14, 2008, 7:21 pmUPDATE: Ok, I opened the guitar up and added some rubber bands around the inside of the strummer..... Now it works PERFECTLY for my pick style playing..... Hahahah.... I bought mine like, 3 years ago.... back when there was only a handful of MIDI-USB interfaces on the market. Now I found out they make it just in cable form.... like, one end USB, the other end split Midi.
But, as long as it works....... |

How much is the whole set? Which is worth to get RB2 or GHWT ?
In case of songs library, and not to forget the game's lifespan? This post has been edited by Kernkraft400: Nov 15 2008, 04:54 PM |

what's with this tuning i read... it makes the drums for sensitive is it? if that's so... I WANT! do i have to pay for it if i mintak GH to tune it for me? i'm fine with my drums. but more sensitivity, especially with the cymbals would be great.
by the way has anyone messed around with the music creator? i wanted to do a simple song but it seems there's a bit of a lag when you try and record. and the game sometimes register different buttons than the one i pressed. the drums also doesn't record that well... maybe it's just my equipment lah, dunno... but ghtunes got some nice songs here and there. i got 12:51, a pretty accurate rendition. |

Where on their website says that????
But yes, you can tune the drums to make it less or more sensitive...... which makes it a better drum kit then the Rock Band kit to me already. My dad seems to enjoy the drum kit very much. And about the song list...... it's subjective. To me, I like GH:WT more because it has my REAL Guitar Hero, Zakk Wylde..... plus Sweet Home Alabama, Jimi Hendrix (!!!!!!), Paramore, Ozzy, TOOL....... that to me is REALLY awesome. But like I said, it's subjective. But still, when Rock Band 2 comes in, I'm still getting the stand-alone game. |

i dont feel like buying the whole set for GH:WT. i have 1 wireless guitar and i'm thinking of expansion possibilities. i hv a few questions...
can we sing using the xblive headset? if yes, are there any drawbacks compared to the bundled mic, like sensitivity issues and what not? what's that touchpad thingy on the GH:WT guitar fret for? what will i be missing if i were to play the game with gh2/3 guitars? is the drumkit available for separate purchase without the game? |

There are sections for the songs that are really hard to play without the touch pad. The tapping part of Hot For Teacher is the first one I can think of.
And the XBlive headset..... I haven't tried it, but I read there are alot of lag issues. I used it on Rock Band and it really does have alot of lag. But once I plug in my Mic, all fine. |

If you are using the Les Paul guitar, the touch pad won't be showing....that's what I think lar. Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, anyone experiencing like when you try to go into band mode and have 4 players, after choosing the characters and the songs, somehow it automatic back to previous screen.....been experiencing this a few times already. Any idea?

One thing you guys need to be careful... the drum stick holders are pretty weak on the drum set. Make sure to fold them in if your not using them. My friend broke mine when misplacing a hit that landed straight on it. Have to open the damn drum up to get the broken piece out now... haiyooo....

argggghhhh....... my dad plays waaaaaay better drums then me.
Everytime I whack, I double tap. My dad does it PERFECTLY...... Also, sometimes the Red snare hits without us touching it....... so literally reduced sensitivity to 0. |

you can't blame anyone but red octane. also,i found drums to be a bit hard compared to rock band because of the way it was built. i played at gh just now, with no help from the massive lag they had. drum rolls from snare and toms are really strange.it's like there's a gap between them on the screen, but they're right next to each other. also the bass pedal is too light.i keep my foot down usually,so it's like i do double bass thingies. that would be fine for rush, but unfortunately they've sided rock band. verdict?rock band pls kthxbai |

Spent too much time on drums that my drumstick and the pads looked a lil bit seasoned already. I wonder if anybody going to release replacement pads/skin soon...
Oh...Van Halen's Hot for Teacher and Blink 182's Damnit drums are damn tough even on Easy! Or I just got no sense of rhythm at all. This post has been edited by chapree: Nov 18 2008, 11:24 PM |

Face plate haven't mod yet. Going to be something quite special though
But I did mod it to be less sensitive. Doesn't double click when I do alternate picking. I hear a few people having this problem when they do fast parts. |

there is a 3rd party guitar for xbox, but trust me.you don't want it.
gamer's hideout sells individual gibson les paul guitars i think. my gh3 pack was basically a standalone les paul and standalone game.lul |

Can do the two handed taps and the sliding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I configured the guitar myself to be PERFECT for my pick playing......... And you're in the right thread. you don't HAVE to use the slider bar.
you can use the frets for those tapping bits. so it's basically a touch sensetive fret board.... next guitar hero is GUITAR HERO 5 Available on the Genesis,Snes, and Commodore 64. |

try tune it over at gamer's hideout,or order the tuning thingy at red octane.
it adjusts your sensitivity. i think this needs to be put at the front page or something |

@trogdor, bro the recall is because of the sensitivity i think and this is quite new, tried to search over the net for the connection problem but fail... may be this is rare case..
i would think that the connector is somewhat defective... since my problem is with the mini jack plug or with the mini-jack hole.. but from what ive seen that the plug didnt contact properly with the metal inside the hole thus make it problem... if i compare all of the connection, the 2 cymbal and kick paddle the cymbal is more tight, and the paddle is slightly loose. Blacktrix, if the mini jack hole is the problem do u think u can diy fix it.. cos i dont really want to send it over to gh la.. hehe have to wait long time to receive it back.. hehe, if u can find replacement for the minijack hole for the kickpadle that would be great. Mic Stand not included. Sorry.
And I haven't tried the mini jack fix. Mine is the snare (red) problem. But after a few good whacks, it's now back to normal. |

in my opinion, rock band rocks WAY harder than guitar hero.
the game is so much better as it gives everyone much more freedom,in terms of the rock meter, band world tour, etc. my only complaint about the hardware right now is that my bass pedal snapped, but i've been meaning to reinforce it with metal for more weight anyway. |

on the contrary, you just can't play the ac/dc live disc.
if you use the code that comes with the game, you can still import the songs onto rock band 1 or rock band 2 like as if it were dlc. same goes for rock band track pack 2,but those songs can be bought from the marketplace. and what are you talking about?i am cool, young, hip,in,and funky fresh! |

My drumset is driving me insane. Already tune 3 times but after each time, a new problem will pop out! Now my star power gets activated by itself when I play a lot on the yellow cymbal -.- Guess I'll head down to GH again one last time to tune them. If still cannot, I dunno what to say....

Stupid RedOctane. word man. i really don't like goin back and forth to GH like dat. Unless it's to buy new games. oh well, i guess i'll go down later and tune em as well as pre-order prince of persia. Anyone heading there later at 12 30 or so? wanna jam for a bit? it's a boring saturday morning. =pMy les paul (given to me as a gift) was a lil faulty as well. Nothing major like fret problems or anything but my star power gets activated VERY easily. A slight twitch of the arm will activate it. It's good if you can play very well on expert, but if you're the kind who needs to 'save' star power for killer hammer-on parts of a song, it's BAD. I did my own custom mod for the guitar...... You have to open it up and add 2 rubber bands. The strum bar will be less springy though..... and you'll need a little more force..... but since I play with a pick, that's better for me.
chinook , the LP HAD the problem..... You need to install the update to GH3 to make it better. |

one way to make the les paul a lot more stable is if you do a permanent fix to the fretboard, preventing it from being detachable.
this is were you solder the connections,so that there's nothing loose. the rubber band fix doesn't help for long.it worked for me,but the thing just (OH)SNAP!ed after a while. also,is anyone getting double strumming problems with the LP?or am i the only one?i can't get any FC's |

I saw your vid, trogdor. I like your enthusiasm, kid, but being good at vocals on Rock Band doesn't necessarily mean you're a good singer. it just means you can keep a tune and many people can do that.
But keep it up. I'm sure one day you'll find a voice 'personality' of your own. EDIT : Huss has a nice 'rock' voice. Hehe heard you singing masa Gears 2 launch. This post has been edited by chinook: Nov 23 2008, 02:29 AM |

Anyway,I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that Guitar Hero World Tour vocals are broken? My friend warned me,and then I got my ass kicked over at GH.I wonder.... Does anyone know what's next for DLC for World Tour?I may change my mind about it.... |

i've just got my GH3 full set, but after i assemble it, the right leg of the stand seems to be loose no matter how I tighten it. Is it a known problem or it's my set ? The left leg seems weird too, it is tight no matter I tighten it or not.....

Try turning it the other way. I got confused the first time as well. There should be a click or a nice lock "feel" to it.

Actually, RedOctane made a VERY good drumset...... it's the china factory that screwed things up.
Anyway, changed my set today..... thanks to Jason and Eddy again! Owe you both Starbucks the next time! Oh, and Mambo, I saw your set all ready for delivery |

My friend, who is a game journalist in Singapore, got the opp to try out the Guitar Hero drum kit when he was on assignment in the US. Then, when he tried out our current one, he just went...... "This ain't the same drum kit man".
RedOctane designs the best stuff. Leave it to the chinese factories to f' things up. |

Oh,my cousin has these something branded V-Drums.
They are RIDICULOUS.Just like the World Tour drums, they are sensitive to velocity,so they change volume according to the strength of your hit. People hacked those to get into Rock Band,I'm sure they can do it for World Tour,so you don't have to worry about buying new ones. They come with double bass pedals too |

This might be a little OT, but trog, how'd you manage to play RB with the region restriction on 360?
US console? (It's either RB2 for me or nothin. GH4 probably fits my Grandma more.) This post has been edited by X.E.D: Nov 25 2008, 08:16 PM |

No,the Asian version is out.
I got mine at Software Boutique, and the full set at that. I don't think it's worth it to wait for too long to get RB2.Just get RB1 first, and get the standalone RB2 game later on |

Get the super bundle!
You can use the Rock Band drums to play as well but IINM, you cant activate star power with them on GHWT. If you do get a faulty set of GHWT drums, just bring it 2 GH and tune em. Or if you have your own MIDI-USB cable, do it yourself. =) The game really rocks man. Maybe RB fans will disagree but I really do think the setlist on GHWT is pretty awesome. DLC is a little weak though. |

yeah. i think i missed this discussion before, but i do own a real electronic drum set (yamaha ones, dtxplorer).
can i just use this drumset with the game eh? if can what do i need to buy? kinda feels wasted to buy the whole band set since i already have a RM5k++ drumset which is durable and better. |

Nope. you'll still need the drumset..... if only for the MIDI input. Actually...... where do you stay? If it's possible, want to try our GH Drum set and see if it works.

Nah,the Guitar Hero drums have a MIDI port already,so you connect them both through MIDI and it should work.

This guy figured out the midi mappings:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkLRriNWQaE Just check out the comments: NOTE: midi number notes Red 38 (snare), Yellow 46 (hi hat) , Blue 48 (rock tom, in rockband tom2 also ride and open HH), Orange 49(GH only for ride/crash, not used for rock band), Green 45 (floor tom, also crash in rock band) Purple 36 (kick, in rockband this is orange of course) ITM matrix uses note names not numbers, will post that ASAP I have to have the server running in order to access it. |

There's a mod for the Rock Band drums(I'm pretty sure it works for World Tour drums too...) where you tie socks to all the pads to soften your hits so that it doesn't desensitize the pads so much.

The problem, is the wire connecting the sensors. It's held together by a small piece of rubber cement, which can easily come loose after constant drumming.... especially the Red pad.
For the past few days, I couldn't figure out why the stupid pad STILL gives problems, even though it's a brand new set. So I tak boleh tahan and opened up the kit. I noticed that the wires that were holding it down already lost contact with the metal piece, so I removed the glue and use electrical tape to hold it down. Also, I snipped of come of the wire casing so more of the contact point is exposed. Tape it all down and run it through the tuning kit to balance the drums and now it works AMAZINGLY. Chapree..... I suspect this is the same problem for you as well. |

Yeah but be careful.
I used electrical tape on a star power pedal mod for my PS2 GH controller. It worked for 2 days until it died. You should solder them together, for a more permanent fix. But then again, that may put your entire drumset at risk, but the end product is a permanently fixed drumset. |

True. As long as you know what you're doing, then fine.
It's clear what the problem was, so I tried to fix it with the least damaging tool (electrical tape)....... so will update you often. |

I'm trying to find some DIY solutions before buying the usb-midi cable |

If it is too sensitive, you'll have to use the tuner kit.
What happened to my wires, is that it lost contact with the metal part together, which means it doesn't register anything. your case, it's picking up the signal fine. A quick tuning should fix it. But one time, i noticed i didn't tape it down secure enough, thus the wire "jumps" everytime you whack another pad... making it register a hit. This COULD be the problem also, but i think it's just the sensitivity issue. remember..... opening up the kit voids any warranty, so it should be used as a last ditch effort. |

You can get the Rock Band instruments package,if you don't want any more games. It only comes with a mic, drums, and a guitar.
Or you can always go on eBay and look for a used drumset. There are many ways, friend, and we are going to help you get this awesome game in which I'm the only person in the world that doesn't like. |

Here's a simple chart from MY point of view....
Guitar Hero: World Tour (when it works) > Rock Band 2 > Rock Band |

Okay,so I played Guitar Hero World Tour at my friend's house recently with my Rock Band drums, because his World Tour drums cracked
It felt awkward as hell on some songs. For example,Everlong. In comparison to Run to the Hills on Rock Band, which does a natural Red-Hi Hat,Yellow-Snare for me to do Right-Left-Right-Left rolling like I would on real drums,World Tour would register Yellow as a Hi-Hat,no matter what. That makes me have to switch to Left-Right-Left-Right rolling. I'm not sure about you guys, but on my REAL drumset,my hi-hat is to the left of the snare. Also,I noticed that green is never used for the crash cymbal like Rock Band, instead is used as a tom.The cymbals are usually Yellow and Blue, while Blue is occasionally switched with the crash cymbal aswell. My point is that if you use RB drums on World Tour, the colours of the notes are the some as that of World Tour's drums, but due to the lack of an extra cymbal, the blue note is both the middle tom and the right crash cymbal of the World Tour drum. This makes it pretty hard for Rock Band players to adjust to World Tour, whether you're on Rock Band drums or World Tour drums. Oh,and I passed BYOB on expert drums,4 stars |

I thought that if you gave an e-mail to Redoctane, they'll ship you one for free.
At least that was the case for my friends. You just complain about the sensitivity, and they'll send an e-mail about how your drums need to be tuned and will ask for a shipping address to send a MIDI-USB cable for free. May take a while, but eh,it's free |

The Killers pack looks cool, but then again Rock Band also just got The Killers
But I'm guessing that now Metallica is on their side,it should only be a matter of time until more tracks come to Guitar Hero World Tour. From the looks of it,Metallica sides Guitar Hero while Megadeth sides Rock Band, because Death Magnetic is on World Tour and Peace Sells is on Rock Band. Oh,they should have the Gears of War song as free DLC,as this is after all a Microsoft system, and the Halo theme was free for GH3. |

The Les Paul from 3 feels the best, but it has many problems, for example non-responsive fret buttons due to the detachable neck, and overly sensitive star power.
I'm suffering from double strums that occasionally happen, making it impossible to FC things. The Xplorer guitar feels nice, but the shape of the guitar is not something you'd like to play while sitting or playing left-handed. |

Yeah,but it wasn't a smart idea.
It eventually becomes loose and the frets start to lose connection with the body,so they become unresponsive. You can try tightening it with a rubber band at the knobs. That worked for me. |

Disagree about the explorer.
The buttons arn't as nice as the Les Paul, with a patch, the over sensitive Star power is fixed, and if clamped properly, the neck is better. Also, the added weight of the Les Paul feels better and I dunno how Trogdor plays, but I never get double strums. He's just mad at the Les Paul controller that he used in the GH competition, which bumped him down to 3rd place..... |

Yeah that's because the guitar I used to play ravenfreak had a faulty yellow button.I swear,I had to mash it to make it work.
I'm not making this up,it was really gay.I told them, and they agreed, but only let me change the guitar for the last song. The overstrumming is not common, which makes me very unlucky to have it.That's why I prefer using the Strat for FC's on Rock Band and GH:Aerosmith. You're right. The Les Paul is great, but just like the drums, they were ruined by the Chinese factories T.T |

I personally prefer Rock Band over World Tour, but everyone else seems to think otherwise.
If you have the money, getting both would be a great idea. If you don't,I say Rock Band, because of its larger amount of DLC and much more reasonable overdrive and scoring systems. |

Well, if you can't get online, don't get any. It's really worthwhile to get it for it's online content.
If you HAVE to get one, just look at the track list and see which is more appealing to you. I personally like Guitar Hero, because it has alot of my favorite songs, more so then Rock Band....... |

I theoretically know how to fix the double strumming, but I don't have the proper screwdrivers for the job...
There are these metal things in the strum bar that are colliding with each other, causing the strum bar to trigger a strum in the game after only one proper strum. On Scorehero.com,they told me I should cover those bits with electrical tape to fix the problem. Anyone wanna take me to the hardware store? |

With the Les Paul, no need to mod. It's perfect.
The World Tour Guitar, I just opened up the guitar (Using Torx screwdrivers. That's all you need Trogdor) , added in 2 rubber bands and voila! Double strumming fixed! I dunno if it works for you finger pluckers, but for a pick player like me, it works perfectly. |

If you wish to tune the sensitivity on your drum set, then you may need to purchase a standard midi cable to use with the tuning software. QUOTE(blacktrix @ Dec 8 2008, 07:17 PM) Heh. My dad was playing with the new free rubbered drumsticks from Gamer's Hideout, and it snapped in two. Blame La Bamba Well, I personally dun really like the Mad Catz stick. It doesn't bounce well and I have to ketuk kuat2 as my kit sensitivity is not high enough to play light. That being said, what drumsticks are you guys using? QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Dec 8 2008, 10:38 PM) Hurm, i have myself here the GHWT guitar bundle and it says there it's PAL. Is it actually region free?
