just bought an Asus P320 with 4Gb for my girlfriend. Its rather perfect for lady user I would say..and comes with latest firmware which very much fixed most of the existing problems.. laugh.gif

Firmware V4.13.0 - updated 10/10/08

Just some opinions to the moderator, perhaps you can post the latest links to updated firmwares, tips & tricks, recommended software etc on the main page rclxms.gif

Well, i asked them install both mapking and garmin inside my P320, now my Main memory left a pity 3mb. Since garmin are nicer to be used, i plan to remove mapking to free up some memory. In fact, i even encounter problem on lunching IE or outlook.  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

mapking does not use your main memory, it is Garmin that takes up to 8MB in the main memory.
there is no way you can move this to storage memory, it is standard for wm device.

yes. tho data in storage will remain. but stuff u install in storage card may need to be reinstalled as essential registry and data files may be in pda memory, which will be wiped clean

Hmm ... that mean additional software that NOT c/w WM6.1 need reinstall right ? Eg. Garmin, CE-star (chinese), Internet Browser (3rd party) ... etc etc. How bout phonebook, SMS, email ?

It look very "mafan" to reinstall everything. rclxub.gif

Any back-up software that can do it easy ?

yes those stuff all gone. phonebook sms and e mail all also will be gone. but contacts, and calendar and tasks shud be synced with active synced. u can also try PIM back up, to save contacts, tasks, and calendars as well as sms. but IMHO its better to start fresh with the sms, dunno why i feel restoring sms from PIMbackup somehow lags the device like crazy

as for reinstalling your software all....i havent tried it myself, but u shud have a look at Shashimi(google, cannot find then i find for u). Mind u i havent try before, as my stuff in storage card installed, i can just copy paste a new shortcut and it runs. those which dun run get error must reinstall.

Million thanks Bro notworthy.gif

I think reinstall software still can accept (just need time only). Cause just install only.
But Contact & SMS will kill me, cause it was important for me. Contact we can use Active Sync, but SMS ... rclxub.gif

I beg to differ. After installing Garmin into phone memory, u can easily transfer the files to memory card and create a shortcut to it in the Menu, and save spaces in Phone Memory.

its not standard for WM device...

What OS your computer use. If you still use XP. You need to install Active Sync 4.5 into your PC/Notebook in order to sync your PDA and installing any application with *.exe entension. For application with *.cab extension. Just copy the program to any location in your PDA (the best was your memory card), click on the application and it will install it.

hi guys,

previously it was mentioned in this thread that asus p320 can be overclocked using Chi-Tai HomeScreen PlusPlus (aka BatteryStatus). I tried the OC software but when I press "Get" under OMAP tab, it cant get the processor speed. I tried to force OC to 221Mhz and above, but seems like no difference. I guess this software doesnt work on P320..anyone got any idea?? icon_question.gif

I suspected something wrong with your PDA or your vista settings. Anyway for installer with *.exe extension you can install it directly from pc, just click on the installer and follow their instruction. You also will get the instruction on your PDA where to install the software (memory car or phone memory). For installer with *.cab extension, you need to copy it to your PDA (either to memory card or your phone memory). Use file explorer to located the installer you just copy, click on it and follow the instruction.
