Just want to ask, may i know where can i reformat my iPhone? How much does it cost?

My hp SOT liaw....cant detect Maxis liaw....

when you bought your iphone, did it come with a thin film with some connectors for your sim card or you just put the sim card inside as it is?

Actually the phone is working last few days...after i install some new software suddenly SOT liaw....thinking of reformat the phone..any place we can formate the phone?

i just re-format full reset yesterday.. very easy but need to do reading alot thru internet.. else u phone end up locked

just connect it to itunes & click restore, it will full reset the phone. dont forget to backup any important datas

"c:/format C:" in command prompt.

wahliao why so long one chicken..u make sure u check all the details n particulars before u take back the phone..
who knows nowadays so many con shops..they take your iphone internal parts..

summore bro..restore n installation doesnt take very long..wont be more than 15 minutes..the long part is reinstalling the 3rd party software, backed up phone numbers/sms/mms/pictures/ipod/videos hehehe

Izzit in the same shop where u bought it? Why do they need a long time to do the restore? Like others said ... restore takes less than 10 mins to do. Hope u get back the phone like the way before. Later outside iPhone but inside HiPhone (choiii ... touchwood).

if you still got your box .. you should be able to match the serial number on the box when u get it back ...

/pat chicken hehe no worries..but do bring back the phone ASAP coz the longer its in the shop the longer possibility they might not know how to do it or hacking your internal parts..scared they messed up the phone too much later u only got "brick" instead of iPhone...

have u tried with another maxis sim? coz afaik, even if iphone not yet jailbreak, u still can do/ receive call.

jailbreaking were access to enable u to install 3rd party applications into iphone.. if im were not mistaken

did you try to uninstall that particular 3rd part s/w? maybe that was the root that caused you the problem.

hi everyone, i am chicken's mei mei ler...the iphone still same shit le!! the sw tat i install is call "BootNeuter", dunno what chi sin sw is this, after install it make the phone lock untill today!! the hp shop ppl tried to reformat everything..but when come to restore bck, the phone hang and everything get disconnect, now the phone only can use for snap pic and listen to song!! when i click to setting, there is no bluetooth, modem, wifi...everything are blank!!! How ar....chicken and me almost chi sin liao....we have no idea what is the actually caused! Do we need to unlock the "BootNeuter" first or how ar...I soo scare later d more i try...lagi teruk it bcome...

Aiyakkk chicken .. getting deeper and deeper in chicken s**t ka? This one really easy la. The baseband already gone thats why no signal nothing. Easiest way ... use iLiberty and put the phone to DFU mode (later ask to press this press that lagi longkang). Restore back to 1.1.4. That should put the baseband back in its place. If u really feeling adventurous, then why not try winpwn .. the ultimate tool. Sumore u can change the boot/restore logo to anything that u like.

Need any guide just PM me. I'll help with what i can.

Mmmm ... people here use the term 'bricked' too loosely. It not that easy to brick a phone.

How u can brick the phone?
1. Use the testpoint method and screw up badly coz u just blank out the bootloader.
2. U fried your logicboard by using other charger thats not meant for iphone.

Err ... i think thats it. Anyone wants to add sumore?

Chicken case is just a matter of no baseband. He kacau the bootneuter while its flashing the baseband.

Mmm ... can meet-up but weekends only. Weekdays pretty pack la my schedule. Or u can meet me at digital mall or somewhere and leave the phone with me. Later i'll kawtim everything and give back to you. After this if got TT then u can blanja me minum.

as i know chicken use Dev Boot Neuter on his iphone. last time my friend also use this software and it blankout the bootloader when he flash the bootloader from 3.9 to 4.6...

last last end up...he got a bricked iphone....wifi music still can use...but cant make call forever, just like ipod touch only zzzz

another conclusion...there's not 100% successful when we use that BootNeuter...mana tau Chicken suey suey

if really bricked just can use it for listen songs only lor....cant be save liaw if really bricked.

What's wrong with ZiPhone? It just downgrade the baseband from 4.6 to 3.9 right? I'm still in the midst about it so care to elaborate more on the matter?

mmm...looks like it had already being included in iPhone FAQ, but myb we need more elaboration regarding this ZiPhone problem. luckily gengstapo had addressed some advantages when using other method.

and there are more disadvantages in ZiPhone. there are some problem around the 1-pass method implemented in ZiPhone. i forgot already, but in short it's more of stability issue when the unlocking process is running on the phone. plus, looks like the wifi / radio issue faced by some users are linked with ZiPhone. haha...btw thanks bro frozz coz u warn me before bout ZiPhone. maybe u can help tell us more bout it.

So if I were to fresh restore my iPhone to 1.1.4 and unlock/activate/jailbreak it again, what should I use? I'm not interested in running firmware 2.0 beta, just want a normal working 1.1.4 iPhone.

i tried iliberty b4 & i find ziphone easier. iliberty can jailbreak ur phone but not really proper i think coz iphonebrowser detect my phone as locked unit even i can installed 3rd party apps.

ZiPhone
Use the 1-pass method or ramdisk exploit. Ramdisk is very unstable and can cause problem. ZiPhone use a static MAC address for the wifi fix. This mean if 2 iphone with this fix will be in trouble if they r in the same place. ZiPhone also known to cause wifi problem. Please avoide at all cost. The only good thing about it, really easy to use. Gor this BIG shiny button says 'Do It All'.

iLiberty+
Use 2-pass method. 1st pass use to jailbreak the phone while 2nd pass is to deliver the payload. Much safer. iLiberty include the a2fc (or izzit afc2 ... Forgot already) service enabled already so u wont have problem connecting with iphonebrowser.

Pwnage tool/WinPwn
The ultimate tool for iphone. Enable user to restore the phone with custom IPSW file with jailbreak/activate/unlock function built-in. No need to restore then use another program for the other process. Just pwned once and restore with the custom firware again and again.Can bundle with app so everytime we restore, all our favourite app will be pre-install. Makes life easier. For me winpwn(windows) is better than pwnage tool(mac) coz u can easily bundle ur fav app and the most attractive thing is dat u can change the boot/restore logo without restoring the phone. Change the logo just like changing wallpaper. Been in touch with cwm, more interesting stuff coming to winpwn.
