it's flopped bcoz they fail to make we feel for the conflict and also the lead kid actor. Like...ok, this kid got the compass, so what is the evil that the xxx (i forgot the organization's name) did (aside from kidnapping children) that we have to root you for it?

They fail to show the hidden agenda of the badguys thus making it hard to accept why some ppl wanna help that kid.
