the conolon is basically a jigging rod
pe is the poundage of the gears ... normally pe1 >> apprx 10lb by jap .. kwai lohs take pe1 >>> apprx 16lbs .. but u get the idea laaaa
i run 20lb on my pe1,8 .. 30lb on my pe3 ... 40lb on my pe4 ... LINES laaa
the conolon is a very good rod for the price ... starts from around rm190 for pe1-3 i think .. the only thing to watch out for in a conolon is >> DO NOT let it impact on other hard objects coz that conolon is prone to hairline fractures

actually cheap jig oso can get fish one ... just that strike rate not so high la maybe .. oso depend on your jigging skill .. hehehe
i have successfully used white rabbit and other cheaper jigs that costs less than rm20 get nice fish and good hit rates .. poor fella like me cannot afford expensive jigs .. mostly below rm25 one my jigs
and oso regarding sangkut ... P9 is well known for sangkut ... jarak less so
its those fish with nice teeth i am more worried about .. huahahahaa

even the best fisherman sometimes comes back empty handed ... nothing new
i have only been to sukida couple of times ... water there is shallow no doubt and murky as well
u might wanna try further down the road ... TERATAK if i not mistaken .. went there once caught 4-5 fish .. mostly rohus laa then ... now dunno .. hahahaha

teratak the last time i wa told to use CHICKEN INTESTINES ... but dont let them see la .. hahahahaa
yes ... the road to teratak is a bit bumpy .. the enronment is nicer than sukida i find .. if u come from semenyih side means its AFTER sukida ..

i never kena 10kg angcho b4 so i dunno la ... but on my jigging pe4 setup kena 4-5kg angcho ... sorry to say but the angcho no chance laa .. hahahaa
10kg GT .. kena hookup from 70m .. makes u feel like why u never eat rice ,, line peel syok syok .. but my reel drag still there to minimise the run on 40lb line .. face all red and pumped up by the time the fish come up

jig and bottom different type of game maa .. bottom the rod sits in rod holder so u cannot get full feel whereas jigging the rod is in your hand

but then again ... i am using top of the range shimano reel to jig so cannot compare apples and orange

walaneh .. u know how big is stella 20k or not ah ?? hahahahaha
this one hardcore reel .. can use just about anywhere in the world for jigging .. hehehehe
malaysian common waters ... jig jig using stella 8k oso just about tapau everything liau lorrr ...

VW is right about the feel and the performance and everything laa .. use rm50 reel oso can land fish ... use rm500 reel oso can land fish .. but the chances and feel of hooking playing and landing all totally different .. plus if u kena something aggressive then the rm50 reel stands a very good chance of breaking down and loosing it all .... FACT

sykt kepong is an authorised dealer for SHIMANO over here ... u can try go there and ask ask ... if u call and ask they will not layan one
lots of other places oso sells SHIMANO .. u can try to shop around and ask lorr ..
we forummers here are oso consumers ... roughly we know some products and price la ... we are not familiar with EVERYTHING ... so sometimes u just have to go to your trusted shop and ask

kelong u think u use small one enuff meh ??
unless u are thinking about just jig jig apollo for selar and stuff laa ...
at kelong oso the gear size is about the same as the one u use on boat laaa

just go to tackle shops that organise fihsing trips .. then put your name in and tag along .. simple as that .. u get experience .. plus u get to see what u need .. hahaha

extreme anglers in ss3 .. tackle box in subang to name a few that i know organises sea trips ... ocean tackle in serdang oso got
most of the big shops will have some sort of gang and contacts to organise trips ... u just have to ASK

dont worry about your gears ...
since u are going with someone u are familiar with ... then just ask if u can test their stuff .. a fishing trip is far cheaper than buying the wrong stuff coz u get to possibly test other equipment in real life situations .. get info on other accessories u need (hooks lines etc) .. and tips on how to fish
and u get to have fun as well ...

just get the best u can afford based on your FEEL .. there is no reel that can be used for all occasions .. different things normally requires diff reels
