haha..there's 2 fishing shop there, Fish Hunter and Sabre tackles. I guess you went to Fish Hunter and the uncle quite friendly. However their price in most stuff are expensive compared to brand model to brand model..well that is IMHO lah.. I hardly go there in fact since the hooks and other stuff are quite expensive...just go there cuci mata.

Friend landed a nice kerapu (1kg++) just before going home. Had to leave early. Saw 5 HUGE kerapu naga (10kg++) being delivered and kept in the net. possibly to be released later. A friend there told me beside the 5 fish, theres a few more than havent been landed that are still in the pond. Me? Koyaklah. Cheers. anybody wanna buy nice reel? added: I'm selling my jigging rod..anybody interested? This post has been edited by hamster9: Dec 15 2009, 09:37 PM |

QUOTE(yothim @ Dec 16 2009, 11:21 PM) guys/girls, damn quiet leh here. btw anyone knew where i can get the berkley scent spray? got ar at the pandan mewah tackle shop? plan to get it la instead of those live baits....and how much it cost? wanna use those things liao cos every time buy live bait also cant finish it and waste money...maybe this will be cheaper than live bait.... scent spray can get from kepong tackles. not sure pandan mewah have or not. feel like going there tomorrow. Added on December 18, 2009, 11:12 pmwent to sabre tackle today, not bad but all are branded things and i think there is no china things. in the end, spend more than rm100 for 2 lures, 1 braided lines, berkley gulp and swivels. cheaper than the one that i frequent if compare with the same item by few ringgit. lots soft/hard plastic occupies more than half the showroom but no rapala but most caters seafishing. and at the same time, make a new friend and exchanged numbers. will ask me to tag along on his fishing trip...hehe....... sabre tackles mainly sells halco stuff QUOTE(kakiloki @ Dec 20 2009, 12:24 AM) try to get from OceanSport Fishing (or best known as eBoy) in Seri Kembangan, not mistaken last seen that model last month, not sure they have it now or not. There's another place I know that have Fream Exceler 4500J is in Mei Jia Tackles, Lukut. They have most of the old Daiwa reels even the classic like BG-10 and BG-20 |

QUOTE(yothim @ Dec 22 2009, 10:16 PM) guys/girls, i would recommend u buy a cheap one like banax or abu (black max, blue max or silver max series) first. Get the feel of it, meaning..learn how to cast etc coz surely will kena goreng meehoon (or birdnest) see if u can take it or not. Some people just give up and continue with spinning reel, while some continue as it is. I've know many who brought expensive BC reels (as seen I've sold one with digital control here) but ends up prefer to use spinning reels instead. Here I would list out several limitations for a BC reels and their pros as well...ask your opinion. i'm planning to invest on a baitcasting reel, which would you all recommend? daiwa, shimano or abu garcia? the abu model i'm eyeing is revo stx which is rm495, quite nice but i met one guy who fish for nearly 2 decades (not the seller la) and he said i should consider to get good one if plan for a long term ones and slowly pick up on it. so, any recommendations on the reel? hehe......the guy tat i met, he is using 1st generation of shimano antares which is more than 2k 10 yrs ago and still using it until now. so guys/girls.....opinions!! thanks pros: better control of the fish (IMHO) lightweight makes u look like a pro provided u dun goreng mee hoon la. cons: not all lures can be use with BC reels, but some BC reels (expensive ones like the one I've sold and anteras) can cast the lightest lures which ends up we fall back to spinning reels to do the job. goreng meehoon can be frustrating especially when u load ur BC reels with expensive braided line. Can also be frustrating when fish is in a biting frenzy and the last thing on earth is to be stuck with a mee hoon line (I've experienced that I believe u ought to rephrase the word of "investing on a baitcasting reel" if u want to look for a cheapo offer. What u pay for is what you get. My recommendation would be Shimano Curado tho I'm using Inshore. |

QUOTE(yothim @ Dec 24 2009, 12:39 AM) btw, in what way that it is better than stx? from the specs, it seems like stx is better. can elaborate? thanks u mentioned u want something long lasting, thus suggesting u inshore coz can play both fresh and saltwater. again, if u din wash ur reel after saltwater fishing, any reel would die. hmm...not sure leh, some intro abu and some intro shimano. my budget is just medium only.......good ones will wait till i'm good at it cos no matter how good the reel, i still cant appreciate it yet. abu, shimano..it's like comparing ermm...Toyota and Chevrolet..Some models are good and some are not. Till now, there's no perfect reel..I may say it's nice, you might not feel as nice. Thus selecting reels are really subjective. Abu, Shimano, Daiwa have quality low profile baitcasting reels. it's up to the user to feel it. I would agree with Sifu Q on the feel. Have the reel set up with the rod (usually in tackle show they allow u to do that) then hold the reel in a casting manner.. does it feel good in your hands? some may b too small, some too big. For me, I hate Revo Toro since it's too bulky on my hands. |

QUOTE(yothim @ Dec 29 2009, 08:04 PM) guys, stx selling in kepong RM520 if i didn't see wrong. Just went today. Wonder can nego to that price of yours or not...hehhehe..i'm in a dilemma now....the revo stx that i ordered....haii....no stock, need to order for the left hand ones and most probably will arrive before CNY. Then there is the Toro which has the left handed ones. I went to the other tackle shop to compare the STX and they are selling RM100 difference from sabre. the sabre dont recommed me the toro but the pandan mewah tackle recommend me the toro for harsh usage if compare to stx. and i heard the stx magnet is quite sensitive to saltwater unlike the toro which does not have one. my hand can fit to the toro btw since my hand is big....so...wait for the stx or toro? haii....... |
