im lookin for a budget receiver and i think i found this yamaha receiver for rm950... suitable for my budget...

any1 have any opinion or comment or review for this item that can help?

im sorry, it sounded that ur so call technician dun hav good knowledge in HD stuff. sorry

like dato mega sed, in order to get HD audio in their max bitrate, only HDMI connection possible. so, unplug your optical cable (u could throw it away btw) and set ur PS3 audio to output the sound thru HDMI and as MPCM.

this method will enabled u to hear HD audios.

then sit back, pop in Die HArd 4.0 BD and get blow away by its DTS HD MA.



other note: since u have 663, u also can buy BD player that have bitstreaming capabilities of all those HD audios. and those DTS HD MA & DD TrueHD will light up on your avr.

tis is my peasant way of setup

again..if u got High END setup might hear abit difference.

As for coaxial cable..i think get a 'real coaxial' instead of normal rca...coz..I have tried last time...and I really feel the difference after changing from rca to a PHILIPS coaxial cable.
