Hi guys.. one quick question.. is there any J-phone with gprs/mms/3g all unlocked ( except for 902/903sh ) ?? kinda a waste for a high specs phone with basic functionality.. the only reason that makes me don't wanna go for j-phone.. i need connectivity  sad.gif whats the good of having good camera but cant share the pics with your love ones thru mms..  wink.gif
*
Afraid none of them because all of the newer J-phone models, the WAP/MMS settings are obtained through OTA re provisioning which available on its origin network only. Besides, Softbank 705Px able to use GRPS through bypass SIM unlock but not MMS because they don't use MMS anymore but Mail (with only Settings tailored to Softbank Mail server).

haha luckily we have vodafone bro here to help..

Err Mr Vodafone, any idea how to turn off 804sh re provisioning ar??

thanks..  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
*
Hmm not sure if it accepts WAP PUSH message from our local telcos but most probably wont because of different message structure used in Japanese firmware. If it accepts, then you can get rid of re provisioning message.

QUOTE(awong @ May 14 2008, 03:10 PM)
so 705px is confirmed working with gprs with hypersim?  Thought so, b/c I remember seeing the settings available for editing and adding profiles

and that means Zack Styler's 804sh should work on gprs also as it has the settings editable?

Added on May 14, 2008, 3:13 pm
you cant, but try to get used to the short cut key under the accept call key button, you can do most of the settings folders from there without a repro.  I've been using my 903sh and 920sh like that and can avoid the repro all together for most functions
*
Yes, confirmed working and personally tested. This should apply to 705P, 705Px and 706P also.

Forgot to tell that yes 804SH is also working and tested by borrowing my friend's yellow 804SH.

QUOTE(Zack Styler @ May 14 2008, 03:14 PM)
Haha mine I haven't really tried to edit the GPRS settings yet..

Yes it has those internet  settings like for PC.

Just follow the 903SH settings and sure you can get the GRPS/MMS working.

so 706p has features unlocked without a repro also?  And which hypersim did you try for 705p?
*
Nope, all of them with repro but you could use data packet related services/functions with the phone. Using hypercard 256 with 705Px.

weird my hyper256 didnt work on it, and i got invalid sim card errors even after master reset, must be something with the sim card type in the US causing it. as the same hypercard is in my 920sh working prfectly
*
Hmm did you use 3G USIM card on it? It seems the phone only accepts 3G USIM card. I did try on Maxis and Celcom both could use GRPS as long as the settings are correct.

guys hotlink prepaid got L type sim carD?
if got i really wanna buy p905i from bro bearbrick lo
*
Hmm it is hard if you are buying a new starter pack. If you are an existing user, then might try to go to Maxis centre to try to replace your USIM but there will be a RM25 charge for prepaid user. So far I didn't see any L type chip yet on prepaid as mostly all the prepaid sim chip is usable with the bypass (Postpaid is the most troublesome one).

Can't sure until tested. Can meet up to test as I will get P905i on Wednesday. One of my customer using 8K prepaid hotlink on N705i and so far no problem.

Hmm if you worried then can try to change 1st but not sure there is any L shape for prepaid. By the way, must ask first before changing or else you will waste RM25 for changing SIM.

hello.. sorry noob question here.

920sh totally unlock??

what does it mean by "920SH Totally Unlock right now" there?
is it gprs/mms also unlock?
*
Means camera and media player unlocked. The GRPS functions is not unlock because there is no settings available, or else, it will work also.

QUOTE(sasuke123 @ May 20 2008, 01:23 PM)
the 906 series function fully useable in M.sia?

vodafone do you know if benny's media unlock sim is based on the hypersim 256?  I saw some from yahoo hk auctions using the large chip, and that bearly  fits the 920sh with battery cover, had to sandpaper down the chip so it doesnt create a hump
*
According to the information I know, it uses hypercard 256 / i-smartphone 2008 depends on stock (but mostly hypercard 256). Besides, need to do settings on the phone itself or else bypass card alone wont work.

QUOTE(leowhy @ May 20 2008, 04:11 PM)
hi bro voda,
these new phones (P905i, SO905iCS etc..., u just bring them in & sell right away in stock condition right?
then we end user merge our local SIM with one of those by-pass sim to put into the phone & use straight away, am i correct?
meaning no additional flashing/unlocking method is required?

BTW, for SO905iSC, is the phone user interface in Japanese only? or there is an option to switch to English?
which is the best compatible bypass SIM being tested so far for this model?
which telco (maxis, celcom, digi, postpaid/prepaid) works best for it?
if maxis/celcom, how good in utilising 3G functions? (video call particularly)

sorry for asking such long questions... notworthy.gif
*
Yo bro, here are the answers for your doubts:

1) Yes, condition same as when my supplier send to me.
2) Yes, just overlap the bypass with your SIM card together and put into the phone to use it right away. No flashing/unlocking required.
3) Mostly all J-phone comes in bilingual language. You can switch to English interface in SO905iCS like 903SH one.
4) Hmm, for the one I tested, Q-SIM or V-SIM or Hypercard 256 for Softbank models is good enough.
5) Maxis or Celcom, avoid DiGi on DoCoMo phones.
6) For DoCoMo models that support 3G (W-CDMA), you can only make voice/video calls but not receiving any voice/video calls).

Hope that helps.

wow, i c... thanks for the info

some extension for Q6: so is there a funtion inside the SO905iSC where we can switch between auto/GSM only just like 903SH so the phone won't be confusing in certain situations?
how about capability of MMS and internet browsing?

thanks again  notworthy.gif
*
Hi,

You can switch the network mode to 3G/GSM, 3G GSM/GPRS.

I don't think it is built-in with MMS as to what the newer models do. They already using Mail all the way and no MMS. GRPS is not usable because no settings input section provided.

ouch... that's quite a drawback... then i believe the GPS function shall not be usable here too... sigh...

another draw back... wifi is not included, which is a great module to compensate for the lack of MMS/GPRS fucntion... but guess we can't have everything...  laugh.gif
*
Now mostly all the J-phone can't use GRPS or data packet related services/functions. GPS is not usable also.

sorry for disturb but i want to ask whether there is a way to buy and use this phone?

http://www.n-keitai.com/n705imyu/

according to bro vodafone, said that Digi can't work well with Docomo phones? sad.gif

=======

Au by Kddi product line up can be found here:

http://www.au.kddi.com/english/product/index.html
*
N705imu is not practically usable because it support 3G only which in the current stage, only can make calls but not receiving any. DiGi is not recommended for DoCoMo phones with GSM+3G Global Roaming because there is too many blindspots found.

My friend have tested it with Q-sim but it doesn't work..now just a useless toy lying in the drawer sad.gif
*
So your friend's one didn't get it unlock to use on other AU sim right? The q-sim tested on the W62S is locked to the specific AU SIM or already unlocked one?

Personally didn't try before just heard that Benny says it supports W62S.
