seriously, get those regular doors replaced. get stronger doors, extra hinges would help.

most just bang the door/windows with anything they could find. hardening those is good.

if living in a house, grill the roof. sounds stupid, but that's the easiest way to get into the house. just lift the roof tiles, ur in.

I strongly agree with you. You put what tight security also no use, if you are targeted, they sure got a way to get into your house.

Off topic:

What if a robber got a weapon pointed at you ask your open your door, disable all the alarms... that happens quite frequent too.

To deter thief, make your front of the house less attractive. Then less likely the thief notice. Oh, a black honda oddesey in the porch doesn't help.

Have you ever hear of those fengshui stuffs? When you retire for the night, put a broom, inverted, meaning the brush is top and the handle is bottom. Let it stand in front of your main door. That would prevent robbers from targetting your house. But when you're at home or anyone is at home, never leave the boom there. Hide it. Well, that's from some fengshui tips, i never actually tried it. Well, it might be worthwhile to try. biggrin.gif

The idea is not to let the thief notice your house. A fancy gate and garden be avoid. A clean and tidy porch with no stuff lying around is boring to look at, and will be skipped... Hopefully...

Do you know thieves can enter your house through the house roof by removing the roof tiles and climbing in? They can also cut/break the grill as it's hollow and easy to break or cut through?

Therefore there is no 100% way to stop them from entering other than being there with a gun! You can however try chain locking your most precious stuff in the house. Locking the house gates will hinder them too.

Like China, if you can't keep the barbarians from the north from getting in. You can build a wall to make sure whatever they looted can't get out!

Too many grills in the house will only harm you in the end. If there's a fire in your house, you can't get out quick enough. Hangus.

Too many CCTV's, fake or real, will only attract more attention. If I'm the robber, I'll target your house 1st.

I don't really know how you can really prevent them from breaking in though... I'll give my thoughts a go anyway smile.gif

My suggestion is put TV, DVD player those cheap cheap things in the living room, put some as distraction can already. Then in your room put RM100 like that in your drawer. Usually when they get into your house they will ransack your living room then straight to your room. So those valuable things better hide in other places I guess tongue.gif This way you lowered your lost by a large amount already.

I think if you set a special 2nd alarm outside your house will help too. The 1st alarm is inside the house, must be damn freaking loud until can scare the robbers soul run away. If that fails (the robbers disabled the alarm), then your 2nd alarm which is outside your house will do the rest. This 2nd alarm that sounds like police sirens will be activated 2 minutes after the break-in. So when the robbers inside your house heard the sirens surely they will run away rclxms.gif

Make sure when that if the alarm goes off, it will inform you also. That way you will know if anything happened to your house. Hope these helped

Prevention? Read some of the guides at TheStar http://thestar.com.my/fightcrime/guides.asp against burglary and get everyone in your family to follow some of the prevention tips. After that, you just gotta pray to your God and hope that the thieves if they do come to your home will find some reason not to burglarise your rumah.

Specifically, check out http://thestar.com.my/fightcrime/resources...6&sec=resources and maybe you can print it for your family so that they will remember about these points.

Anyway, always remember. Your security is only as strong as the weakest link. And security is a mindset, not a gadget or device. No amount of gadget and device can protect you if you behave like dumb*sses. whistling.gif
