Storyline
The sequel to F.E.A.R. continues the supernatural suspense story of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city.
At the center of the calamity is the mysterious Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her triggered a chain of events that has spiraled
completely out of control. Instead of playing as the Point Man, the game's protagonist is Michael Becket, a Delta Force operative whose squad is sent
in to arrest Genevieve Aristide approximately thirty minutes before the ending of F.E.A.R. At some point in the game, the player character, via surgery,
will receive reflex powers exhibiting the same slow-motion ability like the Point Man.

Name Your Fear
Monolith Productions announced a contest called "Name Your Fear" on June 4, 2007 to find a new name for the sequel. Contestants had until
June 22nd to submit a name, after which three finalists would be chosen with fans being able to choose their favorite. The three finalists will
have their likeness featured in the upcoming game. A special website was created for this contest.

On August 3, 2007, voting was opened to the public for the three naming finalists, which were Dead Echo, Project Origin and Dark Signal. Voting
closed on August 10, 2007. On September 6, 2007 the winner was announced as Project Origin.

Later announced on September 8, 2008, Monolith Productions Inc. and WB Games Inc. revealed that they have purchased the F.E.A.R. name from
Activision/Blizzard. The moniker Project Origin remains, though used as a subtitle.

Loved F.E.A.R., then two expansions were released. Both so-so. This is the true sequel. The 'real' horror game...

The game engine has been updated to support even more gorgeous graphics, and let's not forget, blood and gore.

But I'm kinda sad... coz I was expecting this game to be released Holidays 2008... but now its officially February 2009...

FEAR 2 Banned In Australia ! doh.gif

Is Alma Wade really that scary ?

QUOTE
Currently Australia only offers classification for games with a rating of MA15+ or lower, leaving any titles intended for the 18+ crowd without the possibility of release in the region. Fallout 3 and Silent Hill: Homecoming are just two of the other games than have fallen victim to the Board’s strict classification criteria. Fallout 3 was forced to make edits to the game in order to garner an MA15+ rating and be made available for sale, while Silent Hill: Homecoming has yet to reach Australian audiences.

Definitely one of my most awaited games of 2009 !

Played the demo on the 'other platform' (not PC)... I must say, it is everything I'd hoped for.

There are some truly genuine scary moments in FEAR 2. But apparently, I laugh at Alma sometimes, she is like "trying to be scary"... I think her adult ghostly form can't fit into the small red dress she wears as a kid, that's why the adult version of Alma wears no clothes! biggrin.gif

... and I love the whole "power control" (e.g the bad military guys vs. the supernatural phenomenan vs. you).

I must say, I heard the ending is flat... but nevermine that. It really is a great shooter, albeit not the best or close to epic. Its still awesome ! rclxms.gif

While FEAR 1 was like the awesome-st and bloodiest shooter, FEAR 2 delivers the same amount of visceral carnage only this time, even better. Thus far playing the game at my leisure, I find that the game developers didn't do something entirely new. Except the badass giant robot fights... and even more hauntingly awesome scary scenes. But the "jump out and scare you moments" tend to get old.

And it was... that I finished the single player campaign yesterday. Took me 3 days ! The ending is OK. Overall, really good shooter, but not the best.

There is a part where you would be on a tram (like a train) and it would move. The the replicas would attack you from the other side of the tram. After killing them all, the tram kept moving and moving into the tunnel (like for 10 friggin' minutes - - nothing happened !). I knew it was a bug. Jumped off the tram, killed myself, started again, and this time it worked. sad.gif

That was the only major bug (in fact, one the rarest in my experience playing a 360 game!).
