Not sure if people already know this but Adidas have been doing this cool campaign called Dream Big - The World's Biggest Footballers The World's Smallest Teams where they have the biggest names in football visit youth teams from the Isle of Scilly, Andorra and San Marino. Each campaign has 4 videos and so far only the Isle of Scilly one has been completed. You can watch the likes of Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, and Patrick Vieira in that one. The link: Adidas FootballJust click on the "Enter Site" to start up the Flash window.

QUOTE(verx @ May 8 2008, 05:53 PM) They are not ads. They are more like football documentaries I was referred to the website by a friend and I found them really cool It's basically an ad per say. Adidas did it to promote their products. Btw, if you guys notice; they are differentiated by the boot's product i.e. Predator, adiPure and F50. But overall they're creative........ I love it when Beckham at the last vid of Scilly asked "Who's your favourite footballer?" and the answer is "Steven Gerrard".

QUOTE(ykc @ May 8 2008, 06:44 PM) he's kinda disappointed with the answer he seemed It's acting....all for the show...but I bet the kids are real in saying that. If they're not; Adidas sure did hell of a good job as it seems so convincing....... And the take on Andorra whereby it was the most notorious football nation....wow! never knew that. Informative piece of creative work! That's why I luv Adidas.......

But it isn't a TV advert to be used during commercial breaks. Thx for the heads up.

It's a good program. Adidas really thought of improving this youths. They use this method to expose them to superstars so that they will have an urge to take football as a profession. Good job, adidas. For the youth!
Btw, i like Beckham's expression when the kid said his idol is Gerrard. "Really?" *looks away*... that was classic! lol

Pour in more money into youth development in poor countries, that's a way better publicity than some cheap thrills made with mega bucks (yeah, Becks and co get a lot of money from adidos), pretending to care for youths... For money! now that's a way more accurate expression mate...

these stars are paid more than GBP 100k a week, i doubt money is a big factor in doing those campaign video
even though players like beckham and gerrard cant say no in making those videos as they are like adidas ambassadors, i'm sure they'd be more than happy to promote their image by helping the kids, regardless whether they really meant it
