Furious 7 AKA Fast & Furious 7. You may never expect this franchise to go up to 7. I mean, it's nearly as much as the Saw series. Sure, not all the F&F series are good but honestly speaking, 6 & 7 are considerably the best for me. This movie is also the final movie for Paul Walker aka Brian O'Conner in the movie as Paul was killed in a car crash a few years back, before the movie finished shooting. Malaysian born director James Wan managed to find a way to close this movie perfectly for Paul's demise.
Furious 7 takes place after F&F6 and Tokyo Drift, where the villain from F&F6's older brother, Deckard Shaw(played by the bad ass Jason Statham) is seeking revenge for his little brother towards Dominic Torreto and his crew. Deckard is the one who killed Han in Tokyo Drift(in the movie, he was killed in a car crash, thinking it was an accident but F&F6 revealed it was no accident, it was intentional). He is hunting each and every one of them and Dom and his crew are going to fight back before they get killed.
Furious 7 is probably has the most ridiculous, over the top action sequences in any of the movie's franchise. Some may find F&F6 has the most over the top sequences, but I think they are nearly equally the same in outrageousness. Each to its unique stunts and specialty, of course. They have their own charm. Jason Statham plays the main villain really well in this movie since it is his just typical job to just kill everyone, rather if he is the good or bad guy. He's like a freaking cockroach in this movie. He's just THAT hard to kill. And no, he did not die. No way they would kill off Jason Statham.
What would really gets you, is the ending of the movie. They decided to retire Paul Walker's character instead of killing him off. It has a really beautiful ending to pay tribute to him. Even Roman(played by the ever funny Tyrese Gibson) said; 'It's never gonna be the same'. Yeah, it's never gonna be the same without Paul Walker. They had his brothers to be a stand in for him and CGI-ed his face on them. I cried watching the last scene. It was just really touching.
For those who grown up watching Fast & Furious series or a loyal fan to Paul Walker, this movie is a must watch. It has one of the best tribute movie for him. This movie will keep you at the edge of your seat and also the comedy is always there to break away the tension. I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10. This review is for you, Paul Walker. May you rest in peace.
