Try Bio Oil. It's supposed to be good for stretch marks. I bought mine from Guardian and I saw it once in Sasa.

Added on May 8, 2008, 2:37 amAnd for cocoa butter, Guardian sells Palmer's Cocoa Butter and a few other brands but the only one I can remember at the top of my head is Palmer's.

You can try the Mark&Spencer and BodyShop Cocoa Butter products. What's the stretch mark condition? Is is too bad?

I have and use both Bio Oil & Palmer's CB but not for stretch marks. I just use them for dry skin as a moisturiser. Can't tell you how effective they both are for stretch marks. As moisturisers, they're fab!

Actually i have quite a lot of stretch mark. I tried it on the not so visible ones, and i think it seems to slowly dissapears. Been using it for 3 month++. I didn't use it constantly so i can't give you any thorough results. Sorry.

All this time I thought only pregnancy causes stretch marks, apparently going from fat to thin has it's problems as well.

yeah and that's why when you are getting thin from fat, you are encouraged to work your body out a lot to remove those baggy skins

From what I've seen from Orang Asli women, lots of sunlight and workload seem to work. They have lots of kids but because they spend time under the sun, the tan actually blurs out the marks. Of course, life is hard in the jungle and they get lots of exercise for during home work.

try a mixture of Gelatin, Euchalyptus oil, grinded strawberry seeds, sugar and some water to form a smooth thick paste. Then apply it to stretched areas. Should be much less visible whithin two months. My mum took about a year to totally get rid of the marks.

i'm not only selling the cream, i'm selling all the products of the same brand.
it depends to each individuals.
some people can recover 99%...some 80%
it depends on the stretch condition.
if it is serious or it is already for a long time, it might recover 70-80%
if it is juz a minor stretch it will definently cure 99%..

I have stretch marks on my both bums and beneath my knees. I have them at my back <-- this maybe due to Yoga

Well.. I'm content with it. I just don't look at them frequently and it would make me feeling down. Yes, they turn silver but then it is so obvious on my skin. I had them since I was starting puberty...

Use many creams, not very effective. They are dermis-collagen scar... its harder for creams to penetrate, you know. most would wash out.

Step 1

Massage the skin. The best way to lose stretch marks is to start early. At the first sign of a stretch mark, massage the skin with cocoa butter or shea butter three to five times a day. Keep the skin hydrated. This reduces stretching, improves circulation and promotes new tissue growth.
#
Step 2

Apply self-tanner or make-up. Stretch marks can appear on any part of the body. To minimize the appearance, apply self-tanner, concealer or foundation. Choose a color that matches your skin tone. These products blend into the skin and cover embarrassing scars.
#
Step 3

Consider over-the-counter and prescription topical treatments. Aside from cocoa butter and shea butter, several topical products are proven to repair the skin. These include Vitamin C and E, glycolic acid and tretinoin, which increases collagen production. While these products do not completely eliminate stretch marks, they significantly reduce their appearance, and prevent future stretching.
#
Step 4

Talk to a doctor about laser treatments. This type of treatment is costly. But when topical and natural treatments fail, laser surgery can minimize older stretch marks, get rid of discoloration and promote collagen growth. Laser treatments generally require multiple treatment sessions.
#
Step 5

Check into microdermabrasion. This medical procedure removes dead and damaged skin cells. Doctors blow mini-crystals onto the skin, and then re-surface the skin to remove imperfections such as stretch marks, wrinkles and scars. This process rejuvenates the skin and promotes new, healthy skin growth

is it expensive?
I have it on my thighs as well!
Most of my friends have it too, but theirs are white and mine is red colour. why ar?
I have Cocoa butter moisturizer at home, will try it out to see if it work!

I had these stretch mark since i started gaining weight, then i did alot of exercise, especially yoga started to lose weight and water retention,
now the marks are lesser, but still VERY visible because I am fair and the marks are red in colour =(
I can't wear short skirt or pants anymore coz ppl would question me what that is, as my stretch mark does not look usual.
Asked doctor before and they did not confirm with me if it stretch mark.
Initially it was on my upper thigh, but now it has spreaded to my lower thigh sigh

anyway, is laser treatment risky? I have sensitive skin..

yeah, i got the same prob before. whatever creams i had used, it does not work for me. thats one time i considering do plastic surgery. it REALLY lower my self confidence especially you can't wear those bikini and short skirts. i do have contoured thigh but i can't flaunt it. i alwiz do not want to go to the beach holidays. ITS SO EMBARASS! I am not sure whether the red ones can reduce or not. i have it on my thigh and hip area since my teenage coz of constantly weight changes. Mine are pinkish and reddish color on certain area, lasers helps on mine. it reduce quite a lot. it will not remove completely but its much more less obvious now.

if you want to see stretch marks, google it and you'll see tons of it. most appears on pregnant woman or bodybuilders. it's like a ugly claw scars, like being scratched by a cat. terrible.

stretch marks = permanent damage = no cure = don't be fooled by any treatments

you still can feel the ridges on the skin when you use your fingernails to scratch over it, no matter which treatment you do.

This would be more effective than applying something into it. thumbsup.gif

Not only overweight people have stretch marks, skinny people also have them. It's because skin's elasticity breaks down. I know there are some removal procedures if you are really sick of them.

I use coconut oil and cocoa butter. What you eat is a must too as veg and fruit have a lot of collagen and fibres and vitamins that hel the skin repair process.
