well said.. when i was much younger i've always wanted a cc.. but never able to have one coz not qualified even tho i was working with citibank selling cc UNTIL my hubby got it for me a year ago.. i didn't went berserk with that.. i just swipe for the things i need.. what i don't understand that why ppl wantto apply for so many cards? when they max out 1 card, they apply another card to cover for the max out card.. it's like u have 8 pots but u have 7 covers.. how to cover them all??? i think the newspaper came out a news that there's many bankruptcies happening among the cc holders..
be happy with just 1 card.. no headaches.. just use 1 card and pay for 1 card.. u see now cc comes with great offers BUT do they come with no-strings attached?? if yes, then how can the bank sustain? with cc in hand, u're spending your future money.. spend now and worry later if can't pay.. sometimes i think cc is evil.. it's supposed to make things more easier n convenience but ppl tend to abuse it *sigh* QUOTE(yewkhuay @ May 27 2008, 01:08 AM) haha, i don expect politician point to be mentioned here. This post has been edited by nicole_nic81: May 27 2008, 01:24 AMlook, all these Convenieces never exist during urs n my parents time and they made it through , poor but no BROKE. i was poor, family was poor, i never asked for a pc lesson nor pc when my peers r learning n graduating from microsoft 95, not even a video game or so. what the kids WANT doesn;t translate to what they NEED. and never compare with other ppl when it comes to luxurious / accessaries. I WANT but I can't , so I worked my way to be able to GET what I want later, example, my camera. I do not look down at ppl who r poor and unable now, I look down at ppl who know they can't afford YET go for it. Californians are smarter than malaysians then. for malaysian to learn n to grow up , punishment is a better way since pampering doesn't work. |

i've always tempted to get a citibank card.. don't know why.. maybe coz it's NOT a local bank
and banks are evil.. they increase our credit limit to encourage us to spend more! so far in a year, hsbc has increased our limit twice! QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 27 2008, 01:23 AM) @nicole_nic81, This post has been edited by nicole_nic81: May 27 2008, 01:31 AMU haf a point - credit cards are being issued to easily these days. I gave Citibank a piece of my mind when they tried upgrading my Clear Card to a Gold Card reducing my current total combined limit from RM19k to RM7k. I haven't heard from them but it doesn't matter cause I'm not planning to continue using Citibank as my primary bank. |

for HLB plat holders, u have to pay rm7/8 per entry.. last time it was free tho! but for other plat cc, have to pay rm10 now and last time it was rm7 only
for mine, the points were like forever there! no expiry date printed out on the cc statement every month.. i just cheked.. i have 257K points now.. QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 29 2008, 12:30 AM) @nicole_nic81, This post has been edited by nicole_nic81: May 29 2008, 12:39 AMSince Ur on the topic of platinum parking at 1U, I just like to double check some information; the parking isn't FOC, right? And parking charges are RM8 p/entry. Can U kindly confirm please? Also, I read U have 200k+ reward points unredeemed. If it's not from Citibank, I suggest U check the expiry and make the redemption before it's wiped off. Most banks reward points are valid for 3 years. With all the 'rubbish' that's happening in the market, I no longer hold onto the believe that a Gold credit card might have v high credit limit! We all certainly know that doesn't hold true for me |

yea.. that parking suck in that sense.. it's not covered.. and when it rains, the floor is slippery n u could just slip and fall! yea it was FREE for HLB plat holders.. i remembered those cc sellers were selling that point.. everyone went to apply it.. then the parking was full.. now since HLB holders have to pay, boy, there's PLENTY of free parking spaces! hahahaha...
well i guess the points came from the insurance, my shopping, car tires, laptop and etc QUOTE(tinkerbel @ May 29 2008, 12:50 AM) @nicole_nic81, I do know about the Plat parking @ 1U [the onli drawback is that it's not covered!] but I certainly didn't know it was FREE [or was that free to HLB plat holders onli?!] If ur points are from HSBC, U might want to check the expiry date because they do expire - i've confirmed that. Points have a 3 year validity date so I do suppose points accumulated in Y1 will be wiped off in Y4, etc etc. Y not change something? And U sure haf accumulated lots of points! |
