@labtec,
If the bank approves the transaction it'll probably be fine.  I don't know about other banks but Citibank charges a fee for transactions above stipulated credit limit.  RM25 I think.

I clarified with the Citiphone officer. he said they only charge if you don't settle whatever you overlimit before the next cycle billing date.

Maybe I should share some tips on using credit card

1) Credit card is like your wallet, NEVER EVER REVEAL DETAILS OF YOUR CARD TO ANYONE (INCLUDES YOUR BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND).

- I had one case where this stupid lady broke off with her bf but let her bf charge his maxis autodebit into her card. Now, the amount up to RM2K+ and they are no longer in Malaysia. Bank is chasing her for money but she refuse to pay. Bank can't do anything because it is her bloody fault that she let her bf use her card

- ALSO, when a TELEMARKETER CALLS to clarify your credit card details, just hang up because if you say YES, then they will do magic with your account

2) If you LOSE YOUR CARD, CALL IMMEDIATELY TO BLOCK IT, don't care if you feel like you misplaced it because you can always request for 1-time basis waiver of replacement card. OR think of it this way, is it better to risk paying RM50 or have the fear and worry of searching for the card?

3) When traveling, it is always good to call the bank and let them know how to contact your or where you are going, ask them what to do if you lose the card overseas so that they can advise you on backup plans

4) The best way I personally find to keep track of records is through online because I get my information faster rather than waiting for the postman. So, go ONLINE rather than OFFLINE

5) When you pump petrol, the best is always to go to the cashier to charge the card since the pump terminal takes a deposit of RM200. This is to prevent your card from being over limit or blocking your card from future transactions.

6) At most times, it is better to have a lower credit limit than a much higher one. This is for you to control your finances. Think of it this way, credit cards are like portable money rather than a loan. Spend what you can afford.

seriously, those who always pay promptly or full paymasters can throw away the BNM ruling. this ruling is targeted to people who think CC is magic item.
