@TeraPox,
I don't think that should be the case cause it's better to use that 1% to subsidise fuel. I wouldn't be surprise if that 1% ends up to 3x costlier than subsidising fuel charges |

@Syd G,
It's an additional benefit - and like I said, I'd always liked the fact that I get some kind of reward except Citibank's stingy on theirs ! |

@Syd G,
Does MBB give points on petrol purchases? Citibank doesn't. Also, I hear it's not difficult to get MBB to waive the annual fees |

@ceo684,
Just cause the bank upgraded ur CL doesn't mean U need to spend them all. @TeraPox, It's a good offer; will definitely check it out - too bad no birthdays from Jul-August @JamesPond, I'm surprised cause that's not what they told me *shrugs* |

@JamesPond,
TP - TreatPoints. That's what MBB calls their reward points. |

@TeraPox,
Which means if there's 4 people, the total bill divide by 4 and then U pay only for 3 portions, right? @jiaxun, AhHh so MBB doesn't give out TP for petrol purchases too; unless with the co-branded card. |

@jiaxun,
Yes that's right - I believe that card does entitle U to TP. I don't use MBB CC's so I don't know. As far as I know, Citibank cards do not give u reward points when U use it for petrol purchases [exclude co-branded cards like the Shell Citibank which probably does give U some reward points] |

@jiaxun,
The advertised 3% is a tiered rate and that's the max of the tier. U will only get 3% rebate if U accumulate RMX of unpaid bills which is accumulated to the next month. They can afford it cause u'll be servicing interest on that and I don't think that concept is a good 'give-back' concept |

@ZONX,
There's no one best credit card available in the market. Ask urself what U need or want it for. Take for example, TeraPox holds 4 different Platinums and they're all for different reasons |

OT a bit.. I thought redBox @ Sogo caters to the Muslim crowd? I also don't see KTV & Muslim religious laws to contradict. What's wrong with singing @ public places?
[Ok Ok.. I know that isn't the argument more to the alcohol but who said KTV lounges need to have alcohol?] This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jun 25 2008, 11:50 PM |

@ZONX,
There's NO official statement about CC being 'banned' from petrol stations. I believe they will find a way to resolve this issue as I find it incredibly stoopid to not let us use CC *grins* If I'm not mistaken, some petrol kiosks does accept Diners; I've seen the logo on their kiosks pumps before so if Ur satisfied with ur existing Diners Charge Card U might as well use it. Also, if U do get a CC card, make sure U do not start overspending @hye, oOps.. sORReEEeee This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jun 26 2008, 12:02 AM |

@hye,
U know.. come to think of it, instead of petrol stations 'striking' on us, Y don't we start a strike on the Credit Card companies and stop using them for 2 weeks?! That way, it can pressure them to reduce their commission charges *grins* |

@Syd G,
If U haf an existing credit card, use that as ur base to apply for this 2nd credit card. If U don't haf an existing credit card, just apply for anyone that U qualify and use that to apply for this 2nd one |

@hye,
I thought Citibank was more "calculative" than HSBC when it came to value of points?! @TeraPox, Would U like to give me a supp card then?! @Syd G, Make sure U keep track of all expenses made; do not make any U cannot afford to pay when the bill comes. Ie: set aside $ for each purchase - that way U don't have to worry about not having sufficient $ to pay Some banks do offer waivers for supp card holders if the card isn't dormant and is in use. Alternatively, go with hye's suggestion. |
