my plan is simple; buy low sell high regardless of time.

usually some funds able to gave out 10%-15% profit per year but this cannot be guaranteed. however, as far as im gone through, thats how it perform. But, it is not a good practice to talk based on past experience because investing in mutual funds cannot be measured from past experience.

let say i pump in using epf savings and if it making profit in 1 year or 2 years time, i sell them back, then re-invest.

what do u think?

Hmm, so is it advisable to switch now or face more losses?
*
Invest with EPF, u can switch or just leave it there. At the end market will go up back. Just buy more if u still eligible to invest. Dont just see your value going down without doing any topup. Many people survive this with EPF investment.

If invest with cash, u can just swich it and park it in funds that are not affected. Dont let it go any down further. I just switched mine last week. Although its a bit late, but many said it will go down further. Hmm.

Mr wong, what say u? hmm.gif

yea, I do know that everything comes with a risk...
I'm learning and want to know which one giving more income than FD since FD will bind my money and not much interest...
Read about REIT and will go back to my hometown soon after finals...
tat time will approach my local bank and ask more info about unit trust...my bank is public bank...
and some say ASM or AS1M from maybank n Cimb is a good deal as well....

Diversify your investment. Let it be your investment are everywhere (ASB, UT or any known investment house). Get a financial consultant to help u out in case you dont have time to monitor and manage it by yourself.

U just start working? Keep an eye for your EPF. Can be use to invest later when it's sufficient enough.

If possible, avoid applying loans for investment. Just invest with what you have.

im off from eu and us market starting last 2 weeks.

i focused on local market and a bit in china market.

looks ok so far. local funds hiccups this 2 weeks and re-gained on track this 2 days.

hope it will increased more for profit taking later. im expecting 10% profit from the initial value.

last 2 weeks i managed to get 7.25%, but my decision come in late. i thought the market can go up, but it went down to 4.2%. i lost a bit on profit and now im monitoring closely. dont want the banana fruit twice liao.

in  the book "Four Pillars of Investing" by William Bernstein, he talked about buying index fund instead of mutual funds/unit trusts because the annual management fee will cause it to under perform the stock market. is it applicable here in Malaysia? he mentioned that fund managers are like monkeys shooting darts on the wall. if they get lucky, the funds they managed can outperformed the market. hmm..

dont just read.

understand the investment surroundings.

sometimes something are not worth it to think about. if u good at the strategies, u wont bother those stuff/problem.

problem is good but it would be more better to think how to over come it.

In my humble opinion, forecasting is like reading tea leaves
wait wait! don't shoot me yet  laugh.gif
Why not have plans to respond (not knee-jerk reaction) to ACTUAL?
eg.
a. Continue investing as normal based on normal plans

IF FALLS like brick
b. IF KLCI falls 15%, use 25% of "special opportunity cache" to buy semi-lelong
c. IF KLCI falls ANOTHER 15% after (b)., use 25% of "special opportunity cache" to buy semi-lelong
d. IF KLCI falls ANOTHER 15% after ©., use 25% of "special opportunity cache" to buy semi-lelong
e. IF KLCI falls ANOTHER 15% after (d)., use 25% of "special opportunity cache" to buy semi-lelong
that covers 60% fall liao, er.. which is crazier than 40%+ of 2008 end/2009 early lowest

IF SHOOTS up like a rocket
f. fill in the blanks heheh
g. fill in the blanks heheh
h. fill in the blanks heheh

Just a thought - tea leaves reading may work well too notworthy.gif

heheheheh...IMO, waiting for benda tak pasti, not good.

just follow the flow and play with the investment concept.

i didnt regret at all invest using concept rather than waiting this and that to happen.

it WORKS for me EVERYTIME! concept > waiting

he..he.. buy low, sell high, buy high sell higher...he..he concept also lah brows.gif

this is one of the concept that i apply.

usually when i manage to get low prices, i will wait until it break even + few profits gained. it took me a while to understand about the funds especially the movement of the fund. so, let say i bought at 61 cents, and now the price is 70 cents, i will lari and put the money at sukuk fund or money market fund. then i wait for a while for that fund to fall down because im sure, economy must have to be up and down for it to become healthy.

IF the market goes uppppppp only, something wrong, - IF the market goes downnnnnnnnn only, something wrong. so, it must be balanced and mixed of both for the economy to run flawlessly and investment transaction happened. - people pumped in money and also profit taking.

when the price goes down, i will enter back the market so i can purchase more units. to enter at what point, thats the question i cant answer because we cant timing the market. so, just enter based on our sensitiveness on the surroundings. what comes down, for must bounce back unless the FM failed to manage the risk and also where to invest.

other than that, i set a few objectives in investment. i cant tell u all as i just woke up from sleep so i tell u one lah ok wink.gif
i put an objective where if i can get 10% profit in reasonable time, more than what EPF can give, i will run away or in other terms, sells my units.
i dont do buying units aaaaaaallllllllll the time until my age 55 then only i sell those units.

the reason why i said this because, i cant sure what will happened when i reach 55 y.o OR can i actually survived until 55 y.o ? no one can answer this. if can, better go work with PM.
so, i make active investment which buy sell buy sell buy sell. invest, hit target, sell. buy again. i dont think about the Service Charge because this is bullshit to me. the reason why i said that because, if we know how to get fast profit, the service charge will be covered fast and we can focus on profit.

i hope no one flame me on my post because this is what i did and it works. i dont practice to time the market. i tried this timing2 stuff and i failed on that. too many things to think and read and analyzed.

but if i work with the concept, i can win the battle. because those concept bukan ali baba yang buat. those experts who actually play, bath and eat with investment wrote it down. do this, do that and u will success.

this is my opinion, again, please, dont flame me.................................................. cry.gif

guys, is dollar cost averaging for unit trust/mutual funds still viable in the market today? i have looking at fundsupermat funds, eyeing for global equities, emerging markets equities and local equties. is it time to go in?
*
i pumped in Global Commodities last week.

the price of the funds im entering lowest this year. low 21c, high 26c. highest it can go 32c.

depends on the funds u invest. im investing with CIMB Wealth Advisors BHD / CIMB Principal Asset Management BHD.

- yup..

My question of the day...

"Do you invest with only 1 UT Distributor, or with several?"
- only with CWA. smile.gif

E.g. ALL with PM; or some with FSM some with PM some with CIMB

Want to listen to some opinions... notworthy.gif

all are market the same product. the difference is only how we tackle the market.

No. Investment with UT involves three parties. Investor, utmc and trustee. Trustee will hold your money. Anything happened to the utmc, the money will be given back to u by the trustee. The value will follow the current day price.

For me, ut investment risk is very low because we can manage the risk.
