Not bad, look like better then Public Mutual one.

I currently invest in Public Mutual Select Bond Fund, last year return is only 5 to 6%.
*
And it surprises me that AmDynamic Bond consistently managed to do better than its supposedly lower risk profiled sister fund, AmBond, scoring better at "Preservation" on Lipper rating sweat.gif

Nope, HwangDBS Select Income Fund not EPF-approved.  If I'm not mistaken, EPF-approved funds may not have more than 30% of their NAV in foreign investments.

I've found a few funds that interest me. Will post about them and request feedback at a later date  smile.gif
*
No wonder OSK-UOB KidSave Trust capped their foreign investments at 30% tongue.gif

In that case, KidSave Trust is worth looking at, too icon_rolleyes.gif

Preservation is not equal to lower risk... for risk factor you have to measure the volatility. Ambond is 1.9 while AmDynamic is higher at 2.2.  laugh.gif
*
if u look at AmBond's performance chart, there's 2 significant "dips", probably those impaired its "Preservation" rating hmm.gif

Eh? no specific market other than KLSE tongue.gif. I dont target a specific foreign country, just like U with yr mutual funds approach.

To be more specific PIX done last Dec + another smaller portion last week.
PFEPRF done early Jan 2012 + waiting for another smaller portion IF things go on up later this month.

Pls note though, that these lump sums are in addition to my quarterly value + dollar averaging.
My double-barrel shotgun = no fear/greed + value/opportunity brows.gif. I've no sniping armor piercing rifle yet, thus, gotta take a shotgun approach notworthy.gif

KLSE? I've been suspending my DCA for my malaysian balanced funds pending General Elections

furthermore, KLSE seems to be range-bound within a narrow range lately...seems like investors are hesitant with malaysian stocks hmm.gif

KLSE P/E and Divvy Yield is at mult-year average...which means limited upside hmm.gif

True - based on Value buying. However, what if the market decides to go "like that" threading bit by bit up for the next 3 year?
Heheh - that means we'd have lost 3 years CAGR by not participating right?

Mind U, i'm not saying "dont follow value investing", k?
I'm just saying that using value investing is just one method, there are other methods as well.
IF U are like me, a worker ant earning salary and saving a chunk to invest, sooner or later, U'd be totally lopsided with Fixed Income (cash, bonds, FD, EPF) holdings as a % of total net worth and total investments held IF we kept waiting and holding on to ammo coz no obvious value/lelong appeared tongue.gif

Just throwing some ideas around ar, no right or wrong  notworthy.gif

Hi fellow senior investors, lately I have started investing in bonds funds and I went for Dynamic Bonds Funds by AmBank. The reason being the return for the past few teas have show a satisfying % for me.

My doubt is UT can help investors earn through dividend (interest) annually and capital (when you decided to sell off your bonds. Am I right on this thinking?

BONDS funds return = annual dividend interest + capital gain (when you decided to sell)?

Technically speaking, am I right? Returns is based on my annual % of capital.

total return = income distribution(if any) + capital gain/lost

go to how to calculate ut in my signature.
*
to add for DewVP:

Normally UNLESS u elected for distributions to be paid back to u in cash, by default the fund will reinvest the distributions for u in the form of additional units

In share investing it's quite similar to your bonus issue, which THEORETICALLY won't affect your holdings value icon_rolleyes.gif

Kenanga Equity
Kenanga Bond

They are 2 DIFFERENT funds

Kenanga Growth is high performer, invest in Malaysian shares. Can consider. But do consider at least some exposure to global equities...
