QUOTE(wayne84 @ Jul 6 2012, 11:12 AM) what is the different between OSK-UOB Money Market Fund vs OSK-UOB Cash Management Fund ? Can anyone explain to me? To me both same.. haha. Both MM funds.. If you buy from UOB Bank, they will ask you to buy Money Market fund. If fundsupermart, will be Cash Management fund as parking your money to buy in equity funds.

QUOTE(alexkos @ Jul 6 2012, 05:04 PM) hi guys, im newbie to these things. I have a sum to invest, may i know what is fundsupermart, and what's my position if i want to go for bursa malaysia myself without unit trust agent? thank you. and average return of a typical investor? is 8 to 10% too ambitious? I think expecting 8-10%pa is a fair percentage. Though I have not achieve this level yet after 1.5yrs of investing.. Fundsupermart is like a "middle person/agent" who sell many fund houses trusts. They are giving a very competitive sales charge comparing to others.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 16 2012, 08:05 PM) Good enough to show hand on GEM/China fund Not yet la bro.. I am more of local exposure funds at the moment. Got la some of my invested funds are foreign exposure. If really fire sale, I will consider. Remember to inform me about the sale ya.. At the moment, just keeping ammo and top up on 2 specific funds which I am doing DDI. Just want to know the outcome of DD1 vs lumpsum vs Value investing (am I saying the term right?!!) Added on July 16, 2012, 7:09 pmI mean accumulate ammo... dry now! will miss fire sale opportunity if it comes soon. This post has been edited by Kaka23: Jul 16 2012, 07:09 PM

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 16 2012, 08:12 PM) Value Investing means, buy when u think is cheap. Value Averaging means, e.g. u want your Fund ABC holding to go up RM100 a month, so if it went +RM10 during past month, u will top up RM90. If it went -RM20 during past month, u will top up RM120. Which one u mean? Just read Bloomberg/MarketWatch every day...when there's gloomy news and the indexes are all deep red and close to multi-year lows...masuk la tunggu apa lagi Ah.. I am doing Value Investing. Haha.. Thanks! Doing value investing only comodities fund Energy and Gold till I scared and tired bro. Keep on falling like catching the falling knives... I hope I can see the light in the tunnel la. Dont make me do value investing on these funds for so long la.. I need keep ammo for other funds value investing right? Also for fire sale time!!! Ya.. every night, without a fail I will go into bloomberg app on my iPad. just to see some headlines and markets around the world.

To me.. Any investment other than stocks, gold, UT and properties that promise of giving anything higher than FD, around 4 to 8%, I will study and understand first before putting my hard earn money into them. Anything the promise 9% and above, I will try to avoid.. But sure study kaw kaw la if it is worth going into or not. 9% and above for other than the said investment above, I will definitely avoid. This is just my opinion... Anybody can comment?

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 18 2012, 11:53 AM) Can u stand the volatility? Some of the ASEAN markets are classified as "Frontier Markets"...their volatility is even higher then Emerging Markets Maybe cannot take too much volatility at the moment.. if I got substantial backup ammo/bullets, then I am not afraid of volatile.. haha Added on July 18, 2012, 11:37 amQUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 18 2012, 12:27 PM) Time to switch out? Ah... if AmDynamic bond didnt close for purchase, I would have so much overweight to fix income. Choices has to be made bro, I believe AmDynamic can give good returns as the EU and US thingy will still be dragging for 1, 2 or 3 yrs to go...
