QUOTE(gooice @ Aug 6 2012, 05:26 PM) Icic...hmm is it wise for me to use a little portion of my study loan for investment purposes? What are your priorities first? $ into your studies > small investment WHICH MAY FALL when U need the $? OR $ which is not needed for 5 or more years into small investment > $ for your studies? Don't be a gun slinger, be a sniper. Think/Learn, plan then only pull the trigger. Just a thought

QUOTE(gooice @ Aug 6 2012, 05:26 PM) Icic...hmm is it wise for me to use a little portion of my study loan for investment purposes? Usually i only invest using $ that i not urgently need. If you wanna invest, you should only invest only with extra $ u confirm do not need ti urgently. Added on August 6, 2012, 10:05 pmSo far hows the performance of the fund? Invested since last June this year. Profit @ 0.75%. Look ahead for more profit increase further but expect the loser side a bit based on current world economic scenario. KLCI still +/- weekly, it depend on the stocks holding by this fund. Read further before make decision, perhaps everyone know the risk of the fund chosen. I holding another fund with PM and profit @ 1%.

QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 6 2012, 12:40 AM) You can look at my current portfolio at FSM thread or following link: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=2958416A type of portfolio which qualifies for my "jettison the weakest link" rule. According to my rule: QUOTE When you have more than 6 different holdings in your portfolio, have a good look at the worst performing one or two, over a suitable timeframe (1.5 years in my books). Consider dumping them unless you have other overwhelming reasons to keep them. May not be suitable for other people, of course.

Sometimes i feel it's not so suitable to benchmark with klci anymore as only 30 stocks listed in the index. It's pretty easy to manipulated instead.

Guys, got a question... E.g. Fund ABC goes ex-distribution today, then I sell the fund before the distribution units is credited into my account...will I get paid in cash for the distribution? Or its "lost"? E.g. 06-Aug-12 Ex-divvy 07-Aug-12 Sell all27-Aug-12 Distribution is credited to unitholders
