official is that has WHQL verification and safe for use. while unofficial/beta drivers still under testing and problem might occur when use it. so, it depends.

no. unofficial usually point to beta drivers that released by nvidia also. but still under beta testing. mod driver also got. maybe they have mod for some fix for certain needs.
about the performance, it depends. of course the new beta driver has improvements, but they are still under testing.

hmm.. i got random "driver not responding and restarted" with this driver..

anyone else hav this issue?

im using the beta driver. work fine with me. performance? im n00b. dunno how to check. but, i play COD4, smooth. 8800GT.
