On a normal way of playing with friends, you will connect using your wifi (Adhoc) on your PSP to your friends' PSPs in order to play multiplayer modes for certain games. But what if you wan to play with people across the world? Like for example, I wan to play with Kaeza, he is located in Kota Kinabalu and I'm in PJ. So what we did was, we connect to a server (Xlink kai) using our PC, have our PSP connected via adhoc using a wifi dongle to our PSP and boom! You can see each other in game and you can start hunting whatever crazy bosses that you want.

I've taken out lots of technical stuff (like how to setup xlink kai and how it works) but please read back a few pages you will see a link posted by me on how you can configure xlink kai. Or better still, PLEASE GOOGLE...........................

Nope, very minor lag at times (what do u expect? Screamyx is crap..) but it works just fine for me. There's a whole list of games there. Go Xlink kai website and read up there pls.. Don't be lazy!

Ruby drop rate is very low, 2-4%. You can try to cut the tail n crave it from there as that gives 8% chance to get it. I used to kill like 20 G-Ranks Rathalos just to get 1 stupid ruby....

You can try getting it from Epic Hunting Quest that has Rathalos in it.. Those sometimes gives rare rewards, I got a few from there too..

If Narga Armour u need the heavenly item which is also a super rare item.. good luck lol..

Hiddenbreaker must go with SharpSword skill coz the purple sharpness length is really rubbish. You weapon will turn white very very fast after a few hits which I find it annoying. DCB is still the best raw hammer for me but u need sharpness +1 to make it to purple sharpness (good to go with cenataur armour). If you want a pure purple sharpness hammer, I tested both Tigrex and Hiddenbreaker, I still prefer Tigrex over Hiddenbreaker and affinity is a bit overrated.. U can offset the lost of affinity for Tigrex by slotting in Expert/Celeb/Hermit jewels..

Well I would say there's no Best Weapon in MHU, it's all up to your own personal preference. The argument/discussion on which is the best will never end since the weapons are balanced out IMO. Either it has high damage (u lose out on affinity or slots or sharpness) or high sharpness (u lose out on damage etc)... You gain some, you lose some..

Affinity = Critical damage.

U will do 1.25X damage when you see a red color flash from your hits to the bosses/mobs.

Unless you are using a fast attacking weapon (like LS or SNS), affinity is not that reliable..

For myself as a hammer user, I wouldn't be bothered by the affinity as I deal slow hits (triple pound or charge attack) but if really needed, putting RA1 is sufficient IMO. Like what Exsea said, high damage > high affinity with low damage.

I tested this out using 2 hammers that are always compared side by side most of the time.

Nargaruga Hammer (1248 with 50% affinity) VS Tigrex Hammer (1508 with -30% affinity) for their Purple Sharpness.

I brought that 2 hammers into game (fighting the same boss) and I can actually stagger much more using Tigrex Hammer than Nargaruga and I can kill faster too... (Yes i do know there are some smaller bosses or bigger bosses) but I repeated that a lot of times and in the end I decided on using Tigrex hammer..

So this argument will never end, again.. it's drilled down to your playstyle.. Either u love to hit and run or u like to do tons of hits (scattered all over on the bosses) or u just want to break every single part of the boss's body. Capcom gave us that freedom, by creating various types of weapons given in MHU! Horray!

Or try to kill more bosses to unlock more armours.

Check out Minegarde website for the armour skill list and search which boss provides them then only you hunt them.

Hunting at Sunway? Don't think it's a problem. Exsea, Sunway is just 5-10 minutes drive over from my place so it's near.. We can find a day during weekends and we can meet up with them for a nice hunting session

For Black Diablo, a good weapon of choice against Diablo is Poison SNS (Queen Rose) as they take more damage from Poison. I hate fighting Diablo with Hammer(Unless I flash him like crap), his burrow then appear underneath u attack is too fast for me and a pain in the ass..

For Los Rubies, Do the epic hunting quest in G-Rank with rathalos in it, the chance to get is almost 80-100%, the bosses are much easier to kill than single bosses.

@gofey or anyone else..

Suggestion for armours, don't go for things that you can get from the kitchen such as longer life bar (u can get this from eating Fish + Bran or drink Max Potion) or longer stamina bar (Eat meat in game!! ) Go for something more solid that can really help u in game. Here's a list of commonly used Skills that I usually mix and match when i'm using different kind of weapons depending on who i'm fighting..

1. Expert (If u love critical), 10 Gives u Reckless Abandon +1, 15 Gives u RA+2, 20 Gives u RA+3.
2. Unseath critical, First hit becomes 100% critical (good for GS, read Exsea's Essay about GS above )
3. Stamina to get Runner skill (Unlimited stamina for charging/run for ur life)
4. Fast eating/Cooking (Increase eating speed, don't choke can be a life saver during critical moments against fast bosses)
5. Artisan (Push ur weapon sharpness 1 rank higher, eg: White->Purple, Blue->White)
6. Sharp Sword (Ur weapon won't go blunt so fast)
7. High Grade Earplugs (U need 15 to earplugs skill, 10 only gives u normal earplugs, take note that most rarity 9-10 armours gives only 10 to earplug skill, u still need to socket jewel to make it High Grade Earplugs)
8. Guts (Prevents u from getting 1 hit kill if your life is above 60-70%, life saver for Bow users or fighting against high damage bosses like.... Rage Tigrex or Diablo?)
9. Quake Resistance (Very useful against Shen Gao Ren (stupid giant crab) if you are a melee fighter.. the stomping effect from the legs does nothing to you with this skill )
10. Attack Up (Pretty Obvious, usually I don't bother as the damage added varies from 1 weapon to another, eat Demon Drug or use your kitchen cats to boost it Meat + Vege)
11. ESP (You need 10 to Fencing to get this). You can cut through anything with this skill, your weapon will not bounce but your weapon will become blunt faster than usual... U need this when u are fighting against fatalis and Chamelous..
12. Guard +2 (Useful for Lance/Gunlance users)
13. Evade +2 (15 to Evade) Increase Invulnerability time when you do the superman jump..
14. Evade Distance Up/Evade Inc (The name shows it all.. U evade further..)
15. Short Charge (reduce the time needed for charging weapons like GS, Bows or Hammer, Lavasioth (AKA Volganos in MHP2G) armour gives it).
16. Perceive/Observerance (you can see the pink dot from paintball in ur minimap turns yellow when the monster is ready for capturing)

And the list goes on.. For types of armours, just go to Minegarde and use the search function, some armours u can get it from Mix and Match different armours with similar skills and also through Jewels..

Btw, we're hitting the 54th page now, I think we need to start a new V6 for this thread? A suggestion for the next thread, we should put a list of hunters with their HR ranks, preferred weapon/weapon of choice, location and Xlink kai ID (If available) so we can have a better idea who we can invite during gatherings. Thoughts?

Yeah, but diablo using hammer? Not really easy coz the head is too high up and ur weapon will bounce off the head.. Usually i just pound the legs until he fall then do a spinning attack that ends with a golfswing on the head (so it won't bounce) lol..

Well Kazeru will need to agree to that first isn't it since he started the previous ones?

Cleared the elder cat quest? Ur still far from completing the game.. Try completing all the Guild Quest

Any armour also can use Jewel, u just need to count the amount of slots needed and what kind of jewel to socket. Akantor if I remembered clearly already has 10 to earplugs, so put in 5 more earplugs jewel will give u HGE and with ur remaining slots maybe u wanna balance back the minus skill...

I would suggest removing ur information here so that u can have a peace of mind (u might get spam SMS or calls..) and just contact through PM and yes we do prefer hunting in real life rather than using Kai since Kai is not that reliable nowadays..

How about we put it on this coming Sunday? Sometime around 3PM? I'm not so sure which part of Sunway is good for MHU (Since we need power plugs as well due to the Wifi mode during Multiplayer). Any suggestions? If not anywhere in PJ also is good since ur in Klang..

Well Diablos depends on individuals I guess.. Basically any weapon also can use to kill. Oh.. reading back, u are HR6 now right? U should check out HR9 Diablo and I think u will take back wat u just said..
