Yeah...probaly to be as myself also browse through the net b4 i made my purchase of 9887.Recently using whole set Alpine equipment to match whole set DLS speakers/woofer & very satisfied with the SQ of my system eventhough some of it were old skool stuffs.May be unable to compare to those top line branded stuffs but can throw those China/fake branded stuffs far far away!

well 'reviews' will always be 'reviews'.. have u heard and do a/b testing for p80 vs 9887 vs 9855? i did, hence the statement. 

The best would be the buyer should do a listening test themselves. I believe a lot of renowned ICE outlets will allow you to do so (provided you are a serious buyer). Just like how people evaluate their food or even to the extent of a beauty of a person. Personally, I do not like warm sounding HUs as they do not play very well in my genre of music. Having experience the equipments yourself will allow you to make more rational decisions intead of relying on what people said since most will tend to stereotype for whatever reasons.

but after u imprint the sound to the 9887..u will never think about pioneer liao..

To all expert out there,  I am really fed-up with my car's FM reception.  I spent so much unnecessary money on installing 2 new in-car antenna,  it didn't work.  I then installed a new external antenna.  It didn't work as well.  I am really giving up.  I do not know what else it works. 

My FM reception would say 90% of the time it has static.  I am so frustrated.  I was told FM booster will not help either.  So what can I do?  I am running on a JVC single din cd player.  Don't tell me to replace a new HU?
