Just check the functions inside the head unit before buy because the functions inside make it valuable.

It's come with box & everything just like a brand new 1...any physical judgements can be done on this since i m a newbie? The price is really luring becoz almost half the price of an original local unit.Actually i m interested with 9855 & 9887 model only...can u guys recomend me which 1 is better in the term of SQ?Thank you!!!

Are you buying from a shop or? Normally if you're buying from a shop, they have a place to test the head unit and speakers. In term of SQ, i can tell you that 9887 is better if you've use the IMPRINT function. The function will help you set all the things automatically by a laptop in a hour.

Thank bro leesy90 for your info...yup,i m getting it from an accesory shop at my place here. The setting will be costly or not?Is there any difference between local & import unit in the terms of components & structures inside the player?

Oic...thank you all bro for infos coz i m not really familiar with the market price around. The cheapest i saw on net was abt RM1.3k same still underwater(Singapore) set,so it's reasonable for me to doubt abt this...hehehe..How much is the real market price in KL for authorized/local unit?Any other brand of player which perform better then 9887 in SQ within 1-1.2k price range?

I personally use Pioneer P80RS b4 & it beats 9887 and 9855 hands down anytime in terms of sq. If ur looking for alpine sq model.. got for the older generation 7xxx series..
*
Bro bafukie...P80RS how much?Hehe...You know lar i m newbie only dont have such big effort to spend on ICE,that's why i have a budget around 1-1.2k only.Doesn't mind water set or even 2nd hand,as long as produce great SQ for me.

i think now P80RS is out of stock edi and replaced by P80RSII.. my friend just bought it @ Singapore for SG$630 so is around RM1500 here

Oppss...out of budget.Bro craziechild, actually personally i like the Alpine player design...now all of u guys comment like that made me 15 & 16 alredi. In fact i m not going to attend any competition like some of expert members here & i rather enjoy my own music in own ride. What i m looking forward is a player within my budget can give me clearity, quality & soft bass of sound. My current setting running on an old school alpine MRV-1000 amp fired another old school DLS 3-ways component set.So how ar guys?Any idea or comment?

competition or not is not the important part of choosing a HU... why choose a HU that looks so adorable yet sounds like garbage?
*
Bro craziechild...you meant alpine 9887?May i know what is your choice between this Alpine HU & Pioneer HU at the other post i saw?Already bought?Thank you...

Oppss...sorry should be is Bro Intrigue. What was your final decision & how it's performance until now?

One thing for sure, there are very little or should I say almost none imitation on HUs.

They are high cost, somehow complicated, and yet the same market.

I don't think the imitators can justify their cost if they are to imitate these mid end HUs.

Bro kenlimfornication...i need your advise about the subwoofer which i saw you asked b4 on other forum. Our amp MRV1000 & MRV1005 rated the same power even bridged or non-bridged.If i wanna plug 1 pc of 12" subwoofer which provide SQ & softbass with the bridged mode of 4ohm - 400-600watts,what kind of sub should i go for?SVC or DVC?isnt safe or not for the amp & subwoofer to running in bridged mode?Thank you for your info & advise 1st....

AM999, it's the same wattage but I believe mine is a later version which means I have Parametric EQ ON-OFF, and low impedance.

Since this sub cannot go stable 2-ohm, your sub choice will have to be DVC 2-ohm or SVC 4-ohm.

You can also try DVC 4-ohm. But wiring it will make the Sub to 8-ohm. So it's not recommended.

The best is to get a SVC 4-ohm sub. This is what I learnt from my search of subs. Love my Peerless. ^^

Bro kenlimfornication,yupp...i knew yours version is V12 expert that model but can i know what is the fuctions of those Parametric EQ ON-OFF, and low impedance on the faceplate of the amp?Provided you have MRV-1000 & MRV-1005 1pc each,u have to choose 1 for woofer & another for component set which 1 will be your pick bro? What in my mind is the 1005 running for component set & 1000 running for subwoofer since the 1005 got the better features & more tuning points.Am i right abt that?Another things..the Peerless subwoofer you are using still available in the market?Mainly subwoofers are built into DVC nowadays...& how much is the price for now?Thank You....

You have both the Alpines?! Nice, I guess it was considered top amps 10 years back.

Actually, the 1005 has more tuning features when it goes to mono mode. I haven't mess around with it much.

Its been discontinued bro for the Peerless. For SVCs, look around for Peerless, I believe there are still some available. If not, look around for IDQs.

Or another choice would be selling 1 of the MRV off and get a mono to power the DVCs.

Bro kenlimfornication,in fact i m going to get 1005 probaly in these few days time.Yupp...agree with you,the old skool alpine amps were very very good & impressive in many points if compare to newer model which made in China.Somore myself with a limited budget to spend on these gadget, other than getting those palia/ciplak/fake amps with my budget i rather go with those old skool amp which originally made in Japan/USA.My frens also advise me not to trust/use such old skool electronic device at 1st becoz scared of spoil & short-circuit but he never mention it again after borrow the amp from me for few days while i m pending for assembly. The sq & clearity really can throw 4-5 times difference compare to his China/fake/local brand of amps which he applied on car(with the same setting/components of his car & the measurement of his & my ears). So for me...these kind of old skool amp can last for more than 10 years i dont think they have trouble or problem to go on for another decad(also depends on luck of coz) even new 1 also cant warranty or guarantee you much also.Hehe...

The subwoofer i prefer to have SVC since it's more worth to get an stereo amp compare to a monoblok amp.Is there any other choices for the sub?I need to find sq sub only...alpine recently still got the production of SVC subs or not?How much is the roughly price range?Thank you...

Alpine are not as well known for their subs. Only one which is the Type-X if I'm not mistaken. But its 1000w RMS so thats out of the question.

What is your budget?
*
Oic...my budget is around RM450 for a brand new SVC 12" sub.Is there any other brand or model which will perform better in the term of SQ for sub?I saw a forumer here selling an older model SWS-12XX which white in colour but sold out ledi, isnt possible to find brand new or old stock in the market?Thank you...

RM450 is rather difficult. Can go for older IDQs. They are very highly rated SQ subs with a good price to performance ratio.

But it's difficult to find 1 used.

Bro kenlimfornication,
How about this Pegasus 12" PG-1245 spec as below:
Model : PG1245 (Sound Quality Subwoofer)
• 12" Titanium Coated Rigid PP Cone Subwoofer
• Impedance : 4 ohm
• Frequency Response : 20 - 20KHz
• Power Handling : 300Watt (150Watt RMS)
• Sensitivity : 90dB (1w/1m)
• Magnet Weight : 40 oz
• Voice Coil : 2" Kapton Vented
• Push Type Copper Terminal.
• Designed and Produce by Audiopega, Inc.,Torrance,California, USA

After bridged would the amp perform enough power or over power to push it?It's stated as SQ woofer, any fake/imitation for Pegasus in the market?Thank you...

Pegasus? Why waste money?

Too many fake and imitation around, it's not worth the money anyway.

Save up just a little more.

Opps...that meant there's more than 90% of car audio products available in market is fake/imitation lor! This problem arise when i wanted to purchase & choosing amps with my budget too!Is it adviseable to find 2nd hand sub then bro kenlimfornication?

I think that is a very "loose" statement made. Can you tell us in what terms that the P80 wins hands down compare to the 9887 and 9855. By the way and again, SQ is just a matter of preference. If you happen to browse through more reviews in the internet, you may find the opposite of your statement is true.  whistling.gif

Yeah...probaly to be as myself also browse through the net b4 i made my purchase of 9887.Recently using whole set Alpine equipment to match whole set DLS speakers/woofer & very satisfied with the SQ of my system eventhough some of it were old skool stuffs.May be unable to compare to those top line branded stuffs but can throw those China/fake branded stuffs far far away!
