Hello friends,

I am wondering is there any Orphanages in Ipoh? (preferarbly near by Jusco Kinta City Shopping Centre)

My friend opened a Big Apple Donut shop in Ipoh recently, and my idea is, I want to buy some delicious yet fancyful donuts for the children, in a way, doing charity, making the children happy, at the same time, showing my support to my friend's donut shop biggrin.gif

I am from PJ basically, will plan a trip to Ipoh probably in the end of June / early July, to carry out this project.

I have try to email to some association to get some addresses, but no reply. I am hoping someone here is kind enough to give me some contact/details of the orphanages in Ipoh.

Cheers!

Some updates.

A friend of mine directed me to Kiwanis Malaysia, I have sent an email to the Kiwanis Club in Ipoh, telling them my intention, let's wait for their reply.

Meanwhile, guys, should you come across any more Orphanages / Downsyndrom Children House, do post it here and I will do the follow-up.

Cheers!

Got a reply from Kiwanis Club.

"I hope you could call either one of the following persons for more detailed info on the Kiwanis club of Bandaraya Ipoh Centre. They will assist you in whatever you may want to know.

President: Tony Goh Chin Wah, Mobile – 012-566 3722
Secretary: Goh Suan Poi, Mobile -012-5221918"

Will give them a call after I come back from my Vietnam trip biggrin.gif

It's nice to know there are people with good heart like you. I know a few orphanages around Ipoh but there's one that springs to mind, one called Hannah Home which is near Jusco. It is in Canning Garden and I pass by the place almost everyday. My son goes to the same schools with some of the kids from there. Click on my signature and get my email contact from the blog.

actually if you want to make a difference you may want to target a home which is further away from town area. those in town area usually have a lot of attention and support from the local community. it is those in the outskirts that are in a sad form and really need support. let me know if you're interested in a list and i can compile for you....

In a way, I agree with rourou. Datuks and Datins love flexing their popularity with town based orphanage and charity societies. Sometimes I do wish equal attention is also given to the poor in the countryside. I work for a group that reaches out to far flung communities in the jungle. If this helps, take a look at what we do

i understand that, just that i am not familiar with the roads in Ipoh, so i would be more in favor with the orphanages which is nearby Jusco Kinta City.
