there is a very logical explanation for this phenomenon; pictures on your camera roll are in full resolution and size. on the other hand, pictures elsewhere have been compressed by itunes already, to fit perfectly into your iphone screen without obvious blemishes and yet conserving space.just observe the next time when you sync a brand new folder of pictures and scrutinise the progress bar situated on top.
