Good find, I've just tried it out (I'm at home) and I think its just that, flipping through the pages of the magazines.

I couldn't find a way to zoom in and actually read the text or look at the pictures in MAXIM, *cough Penthouse,Playboy cough*. The conventional zoom doesn't work (double tap, pinch and erm, what do you call the action to zoom in on pictures? Expand?).

You might be able to make out some of the small thumbnails though brows.gif

There are some links such as "CONTENTS" but it just gives a page number and the summary of the article in the actual mag.

I guess its just a preview, for people who actually want to go out and buy the actual mags.

Ahh, just for preview is it. Crap, was hoping to actually be able to read articles.

And yes, us XX's have indeed been absent from tech related forums. I just love this phone so damn much that I need to utilise it to the max!

I'm afraid so - looks like its preview only. Unless there's something (a link/button) that I missed!

There is an option at the top of the page that states "News Stand" so I believe that's exactly what it means. People tend to flip through magazines at news stands instead of reading from cover to cover.

Also, I suppose this is from a purely business perspective - offering free magazines online would put the publishers out of business!

Another thing, the one I was looking at was dated March 2008 so I don't know if the site's not updated or something else.....

It's an interesting concept, but I think I've seen a similar one but I can't be sure. It's been a long time. I guess the only other option is to download magazines in PDF format and use the PDF reader on the iPhone (which I have yet to try out!)
