QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 5 2008, 04:52 AM) I think it boils down to: (some) People don't think about anyone other than themselves. When the community around them is excluded, decision-making become very simple - just act greedily and selfishly! However, you and I know that selfish actions do not always yield the best outcome for an individual. We have more foresight than that and can reason to a higher degree how actions lead to a chain of consequences, good and bad. Did we develop that awareness ourselves? I know I didn't - had I not been brought up with emphasis on civic-consciousness, I reckon I'll be one of those guys you write about Indeed. I was brought up to respect others and to do unto others as I would have others do unto myself. Looking at Malaysia, it's sad to say our politicians were thought otherwise and so have many other Malaysians.

hmmm, just telling you guise my personal experience, this morning. When I line for the LRT, and I was in front, there is one akak tak sabar-sabar nak cut line.
There was only three people, me, that akak and another sister there. The train was slowing down, and she bumps to me like the she going to miss the train so bad.
I mean WTF, the train has some more spaces for 3 or more people, she is like very rushing to get in. Apa la, just 3 people waiting for one train door.
Still want to cut line ka?

i believe the problem lies in the kiasu attitude of malaysians. (note: where is hatekiasuppl?)
i too, personally have taken the LRT/Monorail/Kommuter and have my fair share of unpleasant experience as well..
ppl pushing from behind, not offering a seat to pregnant ladies, etc... sigh.. i thought malaysians are supposed to move forward.. not backwards..

I think it is some kind of phobia that some of these people are suffering from, I mean I am taking the train from the first station (there is always enough seats for everyone) and yet you will someone cutting you off to rush in (it happens all the time to me). It even give me the idea of this term... Seatophobia - the fear of not getting a seat...

QUOTE(ayob99 @ May 4 2008, 10:49 PM) 1. They don't want to walk up the escalators but refuse to stand to the left and give way to the people who wants to. 2. They don't to use prepaid cards or monthly pass but when they queue up at the counter they block other commuters from passing through to get to the turnstiles. 3. They prefer to crowd the door of the LRT/Monorail but do not want to give way when commuters wants to get in or out. Selamat datang ke Malaysia!

commuters is my only transportation to college. well, like all of u stated before, yes. i hate our public transportation. including buses, taxis, and commuters.
ppl keep pushing by the time the train stopped. sometimes when i stop by at kl sentral, and they dont give ppl inside the train to go out first, i'll shouted at them. yes, they scared they might missed any seats inside. but with all the people in there?how can u get seat for urself? unless ur lucky, then u can have a seat. they really cant wait to go home. is like their home sweet home will run away if go back home late.
but sometimes, it is also the commuters management fault too. they always delay the train time. walaaa, sometimes needto wait for almost one hour to get into the train. my very bad experince, so many ppl in kl sntral at rawang - seremban and sentul - pel klang. so packed. even the stairs and escalator full with ppl. cannot move even one inch to go down there.
ktm need to change their services. so bad! very very bad.

punctuality is a problem my personal experience last Wednesday: I was waiting for a monorail at KL Sentral to Imbi Station. It was 6.30PM. Waited for 15 minutes.. still no sight of train. Then a train came, but it halted about 50m from the station for 5-10 minutes for no reason.. then it went backwards 5 minutes later, another train came but the announcer said this train won't be picking up passengers Then waited another 5 minutes, finally a train came I arrived at Lowyat Plaza at 7.20PM, took me about 50 minutes from KL Sentral.. I think I'd reach there earlier if I was on foot!
