hey guys sorry if i revive this super old thread again but can you please give me the name of the bitumen tape that melted? seems like the picture uploaded here is gone or removed.
and btw i saw a guy posted somewhere in forum said that the vtech bitumen tape is fine to be use as soundproof. http://vitaltechnical.com/product/vt-420-v...-flashing-tape/
anyone experience or have thoughts to use this tape as soundproof? will it melt as well?

Please DO NOT USE bitumen of any kind to do sound insulation or soundproof your car. Use any type of foam sheet to do insulation. But do not use bitumen. Not big industrial ones nor the roll tape ones. Just don't. They add weight and are messy if exposed to non suggested operating environment and temperatures.
