We see here that Auras in fact is a very established company in Taiwan

Today, i got the chance to review one of the flagship products, the JES 988 VGA cooler.
Before we start, lets look at the specs

Specifications :


Heat Sink Dimension: L227.2 x W134.4 x H34 mm
Heat Sink Material: Stamped Micro-Fin / Heat pipes / Copper base plate
Fan Dimension: Fanless
Noise Level: 0 dBA
Weight: 348.15 g (without fan)

Features:

1.Extra long 4 copper heatpipes with 54 aluminum fins.
2.Stacked fins with double N-shaped optimize superior thermal performance.
3.Silent passive cooling / Compatible to graphic cards (nVIDIA / ATI).
4.Active cooling fan frame ready for overclocking (Capable with 80 or 120 mm fan).
5.Special rivet process on copper plate makes close contact to GPU.
6.Memory / Voltage Regulator module with special thermal interface material.

Well, i gotta admit that the box is rather plain, but hey they rjust recently entered the market, so cant expect that much from them tongue.gif

As you can see here, the padded the box with foam to keep the fin array from getting smashed due to mishandling.

Test Bed:
Processor: Intel C2D X6800 Extreme @ 3.6GHz @ 1.42 vcore
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula SE
RAM Module: Team Xtreem DDR2 Special OPB Edition (Micron D9GMH)
Graphic Card: Foxconn 8800GT
Power Supply Unit : Silverstone Decathlon 1200W
Hard Disk: Western Digital 36Gb Raptor
Operating System : Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

Testing Materials Used :
1. Artic Cooling MX-2
2. 120MM AC Ryan UV Fan @ 71cfm
3. High Speed 120MM NMB Fan @ 120cfm

Testing Methods Used :
1. Each Heat Sink is tested twice(cool down is 5 minutes between each test), the average results is taken as the result.
2. The same amount and type of Thermal Paste used is kept constant for all Heat Sinks used
3. All Heat Sinks are tested with the same fans (excluding the Ultima 90i tested with a 90mm fan and the Water Cooling setup)
4. A Thermal Probe is placed at the edge of the CPU to retrieve the temperature. The Thermal Probe ensures accuracy in Temperature reading.
5. Load test were done by running ORTHOS Small FFT test priority 8 for 20 minutes. Ambient temp prior every test was be measured.

Mix this heatsink together with two Evercool 80X80X25MM Aluminium Fan, and you'll have a superb looking heatsink.
Although by doing that, you'll have smaller room for airflow if you want to do SLi or Crossfire.

Using a 80X80X15MM fan would help a lot if you're going for SLi or Crossfire.

its a very fair comparison with the Xigmatek Battlaxe cooler.
as for the stock cooler, not so far given the ambient temp is diff

That's one pretty impressive results. When will this be available in our shore ? Thinking of HR03 GT but that's cost a bomb. Really eager to know the price.
