QUOTE(gchin_st @ Jun 9 2008, 09:59 PM) the soft poo stil got it's banana shape... but vry sticky n soft... n smelly too... n he keep drinking a lot of water... usually 4 of them will only take half bottle of 250mL container... but today, whole bottle gone!! High intakes of water can indicate a problem. Keep a close eye on the amount of water your pig is DRINKING - some pigs drink a lot - this is nothing to worry about and could help to prevent Urinary Tract Infections [UTI's] - what you are looking for is a change in drinking habit - if she is suddenly drinking a lot more then you might want your vet to carry out some tests to see if she is diabetic - this shouldn't affect her too much and should be easily managed - be advised by your vet - she may need daily insulin - your vet will show you how to help her. Be aware though that the amount the piggy drinks does depend to a degree on the amount of 'wet' and 'dry' food your piggy is eating - if she is eating lots of fresh juicy veggies she may not drink as much water - if she has had a hay fest she may drink a lot more ! I took this off of http://www.diddly-di.fsnet.co.uk/Regular-health-checks.htm And wet poo depends on wat your GPs eat, not how much they drink. They'l just pee a lot if they drink a lot. You can cut back on the veges a little and let the poo poo be more solid again (if the poo is really wet). |

Feeding jambu? My.... Is not a right choise. Fresh fruit N vege is just a SMALL PART of your GP diet to supplement the need of VIT C, their main diet is pellet and lots of timothy hay.

Too much fruits can cause diarrhea and diabetes. But for a few dayys, just give them pellets and hay. When the poo solid back, you give them dark leafy veges. Once in a while can give sweet stuff. instead of half bottle water consumed by 2 teenage n 2 kids, now it turns to be half bottle consumed by 2 teenage... coz separate those 2 kids away frm the 2 teenage piggies ady...
maybe those 2 kids dont really drink a lot... or maybe those 2 teenage piggies started to drink a lot... but good thing is, instead of whole bottle gone in last 2 days, now it back to be half bottle disappeared only... n torty's poo turn to be "moderate sticky", but not "vry sticky"... seems a improve sign... |
