firstly sorry for my broken english cuz im from chinese educated family

here's the story.. back to few days ago i got my lovely wife(hp compaq presario c700) with vista basic inside, supposely i quite enjoy it but ....
i encountered the driver for the intel® Graphics Media Accelerator has problem... The latest driver which is not compatible wif my laptop...
(man i cant even play dota smoothly cry.gif cry.gif ).. i got frustrated and decided to dl the latest driver somehow the problem still cannot be solved..
till i went to HP official website to check whether any latest driver for my graphic card..i found a old + outdated graphic card driver..i tried it and it works(WTH)..

I was wondering how could an old driver can be better than a new driver ?(it makes no sense at all rclxub.gif )

My old version graphic card driver:7.14.10.1318
new driver:7.14.10.1472
Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family

my question is
1)why izit so?(old driver >> new driver)
2) due to scare the old driver may not be able to play certain games, any website can dl latest driver as well as can suit my laptop?? tongue.gif tongue.gif

any comment + recommendation r much appreciate!!

because not all bugs fixed in the new one, I do own a DELL Latitude C640 (or something like that) with ATI 7500. When I update to latest ATI driver from ATI website, it behave unexpectedly. I have to downgrade to the old (2004) driver at DELL website. Display driver is not like antivirus or operating system updates which solves previous problem and improves performance. sometimes it's better to stick with old one... nod.gif
