I sent my car to Toyota Subang Jaya for my first service (1000KM). The car is only less than 3 weeks old.

When I got my car around 5.30pm, I was too tired to notice anything until I almost reaching home. I notice a vertical scratch... or rather a 'deep gash' on my interior of the the windscreen. Looks like somebody damaged my EcoTint tint film.

The next day was a public holiday, so I did not make any complaint to them.

One more day later, while driving under hot sun, I notice another scratch!!!! This time it's on the meter panel. WTF...... mad.gif

When I went to the service centre, 2 of the service advisors came and checked on it. Then they talked to their superior in the discussion room.

Guess what's the result?

First of all, they asked for my service booklet. They say if we tinted the car from Toyota, they can just fix it there. When they found out I fixed the tint film outside, they changed their mind. This is the reason they gave to me: "I do not think the staff damaged it. Because you see, when they wipe, they wipe from left to right. Not up to down motion. But your scratch on the tint is vertical, so I do not know how it comes from..." What a lame excuse.
I asked how sure are they regarding this matter, they say very sure. Fine..... vmad.gif

So I asked about the meter panel. They say :"Oh, it's a horizontal.. So maybe it's our staff la..... Don't worry, we'll repair for you under defects item claim.."

Still not satisfied with their answer about the tint film, I argued with them for almost 15 minutes. They keep saying that I did not tell them about the problem when I receive the car..... Ok, my fault then.

So in the end, I ask them to give me a memo saying that they INSIST and VERY SURE that the cleaning staffs DID NOT clean the car using VERTICAL motion but intead of HORIZONTAL motion. They was shocked by my request and like walking around, duno what they are finding or looking. In the end, they just say that they do not have a system to write a memo, so please give them a call should anything arises. WTF... mad.gif

I was tired and frustrated with their attitude, so I left the service centre. I'll make a call to the sales manager for further enquiry.

So guys, next time when u get your car, leave nothing unchecked!

Don't bother about the free/complementary car wash from the service center. Invest in a good quality wash mitts and clothes. Cheers...

brother TS sorry to saw that, u just dun care about who the one talk to u call him to call his branch manger and come out and talk. And u told them if this problem is not resolved u will sent to UNW Japan.
My family car also get a scratch at the side of front bumper after sent there for service. That day when i go pick up the car as what i always do and i didn't realise about it. The next day we found out that their technician stole the tool kit for changing spare tyre plus a scratch. Go back there and my father go find they and the supervisor say that their technician will never take things from customer's car. my father told him if u dun take any action and i will call ur HQ and he quickly and apologize and fix it what they had done.

my gosh... this is unacceptable... that's why i have a phobia in going to service centres.. they damage your car without even informing you...

u know what? i noticed that they mark it out on the service form on where the scratches or dents are.. u can hold them responsible for new marks on your car.. always ask for the initial copy once u get your car back and get them to acknowledge.. if new marks they should be responsible

The brand Toyota is reputable.

But the service centres operated by UMW is under par or SUCKS, if you prefer a more easily understandable definition.

brother toyota owner...i just get my vios last week from Subang Jaya branch....thanks for informing..i am getting worried to even go there and service now..i am staying in subang jaya...

which is the best service centre?...really worried..essepcially new car..

I have no idea.... If u dun go to their service centre, means da 2 years warranty will be voided.. i think

My uncle owns 2 Toyota.. And he stays in Shah Alam... He usually service his cars in Klang service centre. So far I only heard he complained once when da technician messed up the steering system. But they admited their mistake and repair it.

Toyota is a good brand, although i'm a fan of their fiercest rival - Honda
look at what UMW have done to destroy their reputation
Toyota is excellent, but UMW sucks

Haha.. Actually of buying the 2008 Accord... That was like Jan 2008... So cannot wait d....Went for the Camry instead.

anyways to convey this message to the Toyota Chairman Japan?...or any action can be taken against the Branch manager of Subang Jaya? for not taking appropiate action against the technician....i think he should be sacked....new car ler...how can he do such things....
i really worried about my car..my first toyota car...

don't let SC wash car for you !!! as i know 1k and 5k service got free car wash ...

normal service is ok. only the price a bit espensive. example for vios, 20k normal service need RM330++

and when claim warranty, a lot question to be ask. and hence take a lot time to claim a part ... since claim warranty is a lose money business for UMW. UMW doesn't have parts 1, they also get parts from local distributor.

I hoping one day Toyota Japan will kick UMWT out of it and relaunch their brand by forming their local subsidery, Toyota Malaysia, just like Honda did in Mysia by kicking out Kah motors.

Can toyota car service at Perodua SC?As some claim that myvi use toyota engine.. So P2 SC are trained to service toyota engine as well if myvi using toyota engine.

haha i couldnt agree more, but if ask randomly 10 ppl on the street, 8 will buy vios for sedan and wish for mpv compared to city and stream.

most perodua cars are remodeled from daihatsu technology, its direction are heading towards small, compact and smaller cc engine. its totally diff from all the toyota we have here except for the rush (rush is from daihatsu). btw, myvi uses the 'K3-VE' same like kembara and vios uses '1 NZ-FE'.

first time i heard perodua SC are allowed to sevice toyota cars, sure its authorized to do so with warranty...etc? if so, maybe next time try to send kembara to uwm since they are also 'using' toyota engine lol.

All 3 of my new cars, I service at Eneos even from 1st 1000km service. Dont need to care about what they say about warranty claims n all. As long as I can I keep all receipts of the service at Eneos, they shudn b able 2 deny any warranty claims if any parts fail during warranty period. That's for Getz n Merc , the Wish I imported new from Japan so memang no warranty on that.

Stupid Hyundai is the craziest. They wanna charge sumthin like rm600+ to service that kicimiao Getz! They only use Shell fully synthetic oil n all. I told the guy to go fly kites. Crazy ar? Cheap compact car put full synthetic for what? I buy the Getz as an El Cheapo, runaround, go market buy fish car n they wanna charge servicing charges that cost that much. I go to Eneos cost me like rm60 oni. So far the Getz is 4.5 years old now. I've only changed air filter once, n serviced engine oil n filter 9 times. That oni costs me less than rm600 for 4.5 years of maintenance! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Just imagine how much I wud haf paid at Hyundai service center after 4.5 years. rclxub.gif

UMW is actually pretty good lar. Even long time ago, they will accept all grey imports for repairs n servicing. Even grey import cars which r affected by factory recalls, UMW will honor the recall n repair n replace as necessary(for free). Now, that's good service in my books. Just coz a few black sheep doesnt mean all UMW sucks.

Now think back to Kah Motor n how they handled the Honda name. They wud repair n service grey import Hondas only when hell freezed over. laugh.gif Factory recall? They will tell u to send back to Japan! Now that's what u call a sucky company.
