Hey guys I'm new to this thread. I've had my 6400 for more 2 years already. I'm having the 3 years complete cover, but recently I'm thinking of upgrading (adding 1 or 2 sticks of RAM). I searched on dell's website, a stick of 1GB DDR2 costs 364RM inc delivery. Have anyone tried upgrading through dell? Or shall I buy the ram outside (which I suppose would be much cheaper) and install myself? Is there a seal on the laptop's cover which would void the warranty if it's broken?

Isn't it a little waste to have 2x 2GB dual channel when windows xp can only detect it as 3.5GB? (correct me if i'm wrong, I heard of this from a friend). I'm going to hantam 2 x 2Gb also. Sick of lagging in games. Btw, my current ones are of 533mhz, can anyone confirm if 6400 can support 667mhz ddr2?

QUOTE(madstone @ Sep 20 2008, 04:05 PM) Nothing wrong with it, you can proceed but the XP will read only around that try la, may be you can report back after that to us what happen Changed one stick to 2Gb, so now I'm having 2.5Gb of ram, will see how, maybe I'll add another 2Gb later.

I'm just curious... what are the normal temperatures for you guys' 6400s.
My CPU is about 58-60, memory is normally at 62, graphic card (x1400) is about 60 as well.. is that too hot? I'm having this freezing problem whenever I multi-task. Ie. I cannot open mozilla if I'm using talking over the skype (even when the webcam is not on). It'll cause my whole system to freeze, the mouse pointer could barely move, I'll have to power off to restart my computer. I was suspecting the temperature.. feel really irritated, do you guys think Dell would provide any help? I'm into the final 3 months of my complete cover..
Anyone here has the same problem? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
