just last week i fail to boot.. press power button and light came on.. dvd drive kicks in and then everything offs... lcd screen would remain black the whole time... not even backlight.. was freaking out and it was like that for around 5 hours... tried google up solutions with my desktop but all no use
then..
i press the keyboard area down hard hard.. around JKL... video card area.. and the next press of power button sent it to life~! weeeee... must have been something loose when i transfered my notebook back to seremban

haha... my is like mini heater when playing 3d games... anyone using any updated/alternative sound card drivers? my driver is still SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC 6.10.0.5609 dated 07/sep/2007
for those who wants extra juice from their notebook graphic card (x1400) u may want to try the Mobility Modder which modifies the latest ATI drivers for use on notebooks. Note that this is totally at your own risk. i have been using it on my x1400 since purchase and can totally play games like Bioshock, Stalker etc with acceptably good performance.
Bioshock was the game which prompted me to do this..
was having choopy unplayable framerate and dell wasn't updating the drivers... and to make it worst.. it was discontinued 3 months after my purchase " so WTF.. 
and after moding the latest driver from ATI website it was all good.. no more choppy frames.. ^^
