Hi guys, this thread's been too quiet for too long. So I figure, why not post something?
My laptop is around 2 years old already, still going strong. I'm a heavy user, everyday the laptop operates around 5 - 11hours, twice a week I play some games on it.
This laptop brought me through some of the oldest games up to the latest ones for the past 2 years:

Medal Of Honor Allied Assault;
Call Of Duty 1,2,4: Modern Warfare, 5: World at War;
Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2;
Counter Strike: Source;
Far Cry, Far Cry 2;
Doom 2 Demo, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil;
FEAR, FEAR Extraction Point, FEAR Perseus Mandate;
Gears of War;
Midnight Club 2;
TOCA Rae Driver 3;
Race Driver: GRID Demo;
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet Demo, Undercover;
Max Payne 2;
Pariah;
Prey Demo;
BioShock;
Homeworld 2;
Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo, UT 2004 Demo, UT 3 Demo;
Quake 3 Arena;
Serious Sam 1 & 2;
Track Mania Sunrise Demo, TM Nations Demo;
Timeshift Demo;
STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl;
BMW M3 Challenge;
Crysis;
Colin McRae Rally 3, Colin McRae 04;
HALO Combat Evolved Demo;
Juiced Demo;
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.

I didn't finish all the games though - some of them either can't run smoothly or the game simply sucks.
Games aside, this laptop can crunch through serious work such as photo editing, sound mixing, word assignments without fail.
It fares well with other entertainment stuff such as HD movie viewing (mostly 720p) and music listening, though I have to get myself SRS Audio Sandbox to compensate for Sigmatel's lack of clarity and bass reproduction.
I do have a few mishaps: Spyware attack! Have to try out some many (4 to 5 of them) before I could weed out that pest; a hardware failure forces me to call a Dell technician to have the mobo replaced.
All in all, this is a great notebook, looking forward for more rock solid computing years. thumbup.gif Less and less of gaming. cry.gif

I don't know what's wrong with your AC adapter, it is probably faulty; what most of us will do is to call Dell Technical Support Toll Free number @ 1800-881-306 and if your system is still under warranty Dell will replace the parts for you.
This thread is inactive for quite a while, unlike its heydays. You can PM some of the gurus here, for example: madstone, teikwing, death_nite, calvin_gsc, sotong168 just to name a few. Not sure whether they're still using the Inspiron 6400 though, you want assurance then contact/PM them, I might have gotten my facts wrong sometimes. tongue.gif

I see, well you can't 'repair' a notebook battery, maybe the AC adapter; you can replace the battery with a new one though.
