just wanna ask
since most of us share the same ip address, how can celcom cap the bandwidth??
sorry, noob to network related stuff.

Update:
Just called up celcom careline. Apparently, the 5GB quota applies to all the packages (D98, D68, and combo).
For D98, once more than 5GB date transferred, speed will be reduced from 3.6mbps to 1mbps. For D68 and combo, 384kbps to 64kbps.

Happy surfing and downloading guys. doh.gif

But still 64kbps is kinda unfair compared to D98 users. No offence to D98 users ya! notworthy.gif
icon_idea.gif Good news ya! Tomorrow I'll be back to Malacca and continue using my Celcom 3G, see if there is any improvement or not. Last week's connection wasn't that good. Praying hard as I've to use Celcom 3G until end of this month because not coming back to hometown due to final exams. cry.gif

I am at Melaka Bukit Baru area. The speed improves a lot. Very fast now.
Guess now it's the time to change to D98. nod.gif

Bukit Baru is kinda near to Bukit Beruang, hope the speed will improve for our side too. blush.gif
Yeah, time to change to D98, time to switch my Maxis to Hotlink. icon_idea.gif
But my holidays are coming, 3 weeks can't use it unless I rent to somebody. rolleyes.gif

Although the speed is fast, i get disconnected quite frequently. The careline person told me that the signal is quite weak in Bukit Baru. They are sorting that out. Dunnoe about Bukit Beruang though.

I must say Bukit Beruang connection is quite stable and seldom faces disconnection. thumbup.gif
After 2 months plus with Celcom 3G, disconnections not more than 10 times. biggrin.gif

I have been using for about 6 months now. Only since last month the connection becomes unstable. I guess there's a surge of new users in my hostel, thanks to those juniors. lol.

You think my hostel line stays like that? Only after 3 a.m. and until 7 a.m.

I don't know this is what he told me.
I also didn't, yesterday's evening was still fine. You don't be that sure yet. rolleyes.gif

Yeah right, I have not received any SMS regarding that. yawn.gif

Added on May 7, 2008, 2:20 pmI've tried running speedtest again and today's speed is still extremely bad. Well, surprisingly ping is quite good. The download speed needs centuries to get it finished running 100%. doh.gif mad.gif
