I dont know why previous topic had been removed, should be content some trade discussion. Anyway, i re-post it again and wish there will be no trade discussion here. just want to share with u all

Lets start

I dismantle the HDD cover in air conditioned room, and quickly wrap it using it own anti static bag.

2. Then i cut it according to the shape i like using dremel, using engraving bit and file to touch up

3. I cut the plexi glass using scroll saw, which lying in my store quite some time.

4. Paint the cover using uv paint and stick the plexi glass using epoxy glue.

5. Again, install in air conditioned room again.

the air dirty inside will affect the HDD to perform different..? or lifespan wise,,?

the mod is nice but the hdd life time will be shorter cause due to dust already inside the hdd..

so just matter of time to wait till the hdd kaput... am i correct or not tongue.gif

not that easy i believe, cause the hdd only open up for less than 5 second, i mod the cover from malfunction hdd and transfer to new hdd

mmm...

Mostly HDD are opened in a "clean room" in order to transfer the magnetic disk from one to another HDD.

Well, for this case...Its really really glad that your Harddisk drive is still working >_>

The HD read/write head is reading the HD surface by "floating" on it in a very high spinning speed.

Any small dust on the HD surface will kill the read/write head OR the HD surface.

It is very basic knowledge about HD.

i tried it once on a old hdd....not modding...just open n close it back....

oow tat mean u used new cover rite... i mean the base one... so later just transfer the hdd to new case only r rite....
