Take note that i didnt overclock also reach 90C for crysis, but that's also because i am playing later stage, where all the smoke, lighting come to heavy(snowy weather)...not to mention when it's good weather at the island, it's already reaching 80C...

ZZzzz...I o/c my card already running 700/1000 24/7 at 41c wahhaha...no sweat at all. Running almost on par with none o/c 8800gt. but the price >drool<.

Don't expect so much la. This card is economy card. Not performance card.

Ehh can show me 3dmark06 of 4850 or not? if difference is only 1-2k score, dunnit waste time upgrade la..cannot feel the difference one.. unless you buy some card that can hit 18k -20k 3dmark06 then it's worth upgrade to notice and feel the difference.

ur casing have good air flow?? cos mine is quite closed up actually, mine at the GSO OC default clock speed, and playing crysis will make me reach 90C at later levels....

that means not enuf voltage to go higher...last time i also like that after mod but didnt set jumper to 1.3V...
btw, u mind posting screenies on what u do to ur card....i really need to kill off a few degree so that it remain lower then 80, or stay away from 90 at least...

this is because DDR(no matter DDR2/3) runs twice the speed of the actual clock speed, that's why when the memory clock is 1000, it is actually 2000, same goes to GDDR
dunno man, other games don have wor...my fren told me it's because my card is pushing its limit, causing it to be unstable...maybe because crysis is just too GPU dependent, until it really try to push out every bit of my card, causing artifact to appear...anyway, will drop my settings to medium and see how....

HI all, I am new to this forum but i have been follwing the thread hehe....I got myself a galazy 9600gso oced version and flashed it with the 0.8bios posted here.... It hasnt worked for me.

I stupidly did not back up the original bios, the link on first page does not work!! 
my brand new card is artifacting and i need to clt=alt=del every startup!

Can someone post/sent me the orginal bios??  thxxxx

Probably it's true. If it's 6 mem chip, then there is nothing to softmod anymore....at least until Rivatuner supports nvstrap driver for G92 and pray that nvidia didn't laser cut the 32sp.

U can use GPU-Z, Rivatuner, 3dmarks(score increment for the same clockspeed), 20-30% higher frame rate in games, higher GPU temperature (for the same clockspeed) etc....too many ways.
U flashed with which BIOS? Hold Ctrl+alt+del until it boot up with the 2nd bios (This is hard to tell if u flashed 384MB bios into first ROM...but it shall boot ok, no artifact).

Edit: this bios is my galaxy 9600gso oc bios what has 6 memchip only not 8! probably the 2 bios(6chip and 8 chip cards) is the same but i am not sure.

Actually, I think the chances are, u unlock to 128sp (so that it has 256bit and 512mb)...then use nvstrap to lock the broken sp (it still has 256bit and 512mb). For users with 6 memchips...it should work the other way round but I doubt it will work. We nvr know anyways....

i just found out it is actually for me to do AA in crysis after all..but i need to lower the setting to this:

Core: 480
shader: 1380
Mem: 800

shader and core clock is at it's max, any higher will cause artifact...memory havent test max value yet...
as u can see...it's like very very low in clock speed now, and the performance, need not to say, dropped...

Yeah, nvstrap is working on driver level. Means you still have artifact b4 entering windows.

So you haven't overvolt? I overvolt to 1.3V....maxed at somewhere 725/1866/2300 (can't really remember the exact clockspeed). It crashed at core 750+ MHz. lol. Max temp is 75C. At that speed...it still can't catch the 128sp bios, at stock speed.

I think the BIOS does not determine the number sp (since all chips r laser-cut except this gso oc obviously). With 8800GT, those 8chips 9600gso oc are still getting 128sp.
