From my experience renting blu-ray movies, my members do enjoy watching movies that focus on the storyline rather than special effects. It's interesting that people actually rent Gone Baby Gone, 3:10 to Yuma, Blood Diamond, Across the Universe etc. I took a chance not bringing in the usual blockbusters and so far it's working fine, so there ARE people out there who watch blu-ray for the storyline. Having said that, I'm quite happy to rent out blockbusters with special effects if and when I get them.

I bought some items thru ebay and 1 shipment had 6 blu-ray discs. Customs opened and lepas. Maybe they're targeting Amazon shipments?

Btw, it looks like the RM/USD conversion is moving unfavourably for us. Now back up to 3.27.

Not really. Most of them are marked as "dvd". I think the value is small so they ignore. 6 blu-rays cost less than RM500 so they leave me alone. The sellers company even has "DVD" in the title. Hopefully they'll keep leaving me alone.

The currency analysts are forecasting the RM to strengthen to 3.10 by end of the year and 2.9 after that.

Has anyone bought the Twister BD? Any good? PQ and AQ?

I think customs wised up to our imports already. I had a 6 BD package from ebay and customs opened it. The declaration was below RM500 obviously but they still buka. Luckily they lepaskan so that was fine. If you do 15-20 at a go, I think that will definitely attract their attention.


Btw, if anyone is selling their blu-ray movies, please let me know. I'm stocking up on my titles.

I suggest you email them directly through their website to make sure it isn't fraud. One of the sellers I shop from had a problem where someone hacked her ebay account and withdrew money from her paypal. So better be safe than sorry.

I'm trying to find empty blu-ray covers. Anyone know where to source for them? The ones on Amazon and Ebay don't ship to Malaysia.

Sometimes you get Thai sellers trying to sell blu-ray titles on Ebay. These must be the ones they're selling!

I don't see anything wrong talking about these on this thread. We're not promoting them, just alerting people to their existence in case someone kena con, go and buy these. Otherwise, we'd be like Malaysian newspapers. Self-censorship until no one trusts us anymore.

Story is very good! One of my favourite movies ever. It's not a typical Western and there's a lot of character development along with the action. Definitely worth watching. I had renters who weren't expecting it to be any good and ended up loving the movie.

Check with your seller for tracking number. Sometimes they take a while to ship out so you may need to chase them. Other times, our ketam claw very itchy so you may have to wait. I think today they lepas a few packages. I also received one of mine.

I buy stuff from Ebay too but sometimes I think it's too much work just to save a few RM.
