Here's mine. I put the same set on my gallery last night but nobody seem to notice it. sad.gif

Anyway, here's some from the fashion show at 1Utama I went on Sunday. tried out my latest addition, the 70-300mm and trying out my friend's 580EXll.

Very noob shots la, if compared to the ones I saw at other photography forums. sad.gif

Thanks for the compliment dude. If i were to give it a more cool WB, and perfect exposure. The picture wouldn't turn as interesting as it should be. I have my own reasons of not throwing the warmth and the over exposure away from the pic.
The warmth is to show the mood/feeling of the environment.
The slight over exposure is to give it a feel that there's spot lights on the models.
That's what i was thinking when processing them. smile.gif

Thanks anyway.

This shot could be better if it's wider... framing is too tight. need a bit of head space.. and should show the whole lcd at the side...a bit under exposed just my two cents.

#3 is nice.

Other than that is not as good as those i mentioned. need more work. Dont stop. Three more sessions for you to shoot. Grab this chance and practice! biggrin.gif

Here are shots from the side. Full body, catwalk. Sorry if you are asking where are the chinese guys pics. Their catwalk is not good, they look awkward in the pictures. tongue.gif Some are still ok. But again. Their looks..a bit shocking.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Not all, some only. haha...

No wonder the results so good... It is a white lense after all... notworthy.gif

Last time 300D + 70-200 still shxt results because the tracking was too bad on 300D... I guess 350D improved a lot...

what system are you using? my advice is.

study fashion runway photos before you go shoot without knowing what you actually need to do.

whatever photography it is, study first. then practice with it.. Once you are use to it, you will soon have your own idea to take on a photography assignment.

Take it serious everytime you go out for a shoot. Do not take it as a hobby which you simply just snap snap snap and go home after that, you wont improve like this. Just have to be serious.

And also trial and error. First time cannot, go second time. third time, fourth time.. and so on... biggrin.gif

just my 2 cents.

My round for Fashion On 1:

In this series, i was standing not in the photographer section but on the side of it. That why the composition is quite, limited sweat.gif

Sure bo...?  hmm.gif

Last time my pictures always suck like his... OOF, bad color... you name it.... everything no good...

After getting 40D and some L lenses, everything change..  thumbup.gif

See my recent picture this month, simply take only... without flash also ok now;

*
totally non sense... camera and lens combination doesn`t matter in shooting this fashion show... the stage is bright enough for all kinds of camera to focus correctly and fast....
mind you... i used:
300D, 350D, 400D, 30D, 20D
50mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4, 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II, 17-40 f/4L, 16-35 f/2.8L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 28mm f/1.8...

all this combination. i can get fast and accurate focus even for those cheap combination, i managed to get reasonable speed and accuracy...

the one i bold is correct.. but one thing is why you wanna compare an L lens colour and cheap lens colour... you have the money.. you can go ahead buy what ever you like.. even for 1200mm to shoot that fashion show.... if not get the medium format digital version with leica or carl zeiss to shoot the fashion show.. no one will stop you doing that...

My point is that... camera equiptments do make a differences in the outcome...

When I was using D70... always dissapointed with these and that... Even the basic color also all wrong...

After changing to Canon and some L lenses, at least everything working according like I wanted biggrin.gif

i think tats becuz u din tweak the white balance and picture settings in ur D70s carefully? I do agree that contrast lvls improve with L lens...but its only by a little margin if u check it out in professional lens reviews
IMO i think any canon lens with a Ring-USM feature is good enuf to get good shots...hahah...luv the AF speed tongue.gif

However i do agree camera like 300d 20d and its predecessor lose in terms of color tweakings compared to 30d 40d blabla....I found out that i can alter colors and contrast better in 30d, but given tat noise increment comes in when altering picture styles at high ISOs blush.gif

hmmm...i think we should skip the mindset of "better gears takes better pictures" instead focus on how to improve with ur present gears =) tat should be a more constructive way of improving our photography skills biggrin.gif
oh btw, skip the technical part...nice contrasty lighting(i think it fits for the modelling atmosphere) and skin tones from vincentaudio ; hack.fusion & derek87...shot in RAW and re-edited or in JPEG direct? mind to share? smile.gif

those are USER PROBLEM.......

i been using 30D paired with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and 50mm f/1.8 shooting a few fashion show.. all didn`t show any problem on focusing the model...
trade off is can`t do close up....

basic colour wrong? you mean white balance????? you can tune that on your camera settings example kelvin temperature on D70 or on 30D/40D.. using kelvin temperature with colour tweak graph...
can`t be the camera showing the 3 basic colours example red as green? green as yellow? shocking.gif

I might agree on some and disagree on some as well. Equipment might help but if u putting say, a person with D3 shooting with a 18-200 lens compared with someone who shoots with say a d70 with 70-200 but knows how to use his cam properly, i gave put my hats down to that d70 user.

Its very subjective, but as what snowmei says, if someone who uses good or bad gear but shoots poorly, i gonna put the finger on the photographer skills rather than the gears. wink.gif
