I'm planning to purchase iphone this week but got few questions about the phone

1. Can i use my own mp3 ringtones as my personal ringtones as like sony ericsson?
2. Can i update the iphone if there is any new updates? eg. v 1.1.4 to v 1.1.5?
3. Is there any GPS software to use in the iphone?
4. How do i install 3th party applications? can i just cable to install coz using Installer we need to use wireless and i dont have that.

2. Yes but u need to know how. if not pay abit to get it done lor
3. Not sure but most of us got EDGE and we use Yahoo Map. Very detail. better than GPS

what is the best software to unlock the iphone? i heard there is ziphone and iLiberty? which is better?

how do we install the 3th party software to the phone??
from what i understand is that u need the installer to install the program. by using the internet or wifi?
is there any other ways to install? like using the cable or something else?

yes, u need to have a wifi connection to work with the installer to install your apps...... if u wanna use the cable instead, use iPhoneBrowser or SSH for wireless file transfer....

are u sure, the map is better than GPS?

i think Navizone(if not mistaken)...should be good from the user's comments

u mean that i need to use the iPhoneBrowser to install the applications if i wanted to use cable.
coz i dont have wireless at my hse...

3. no, it only gives you a map of where you are using edge or wifi

2.u can update ur iphone when there's any new updates.but u need to jailbreak it everytime u update a new version.
3.currently there is google map to use.but u need wifi or edge to use and i find it sucks totally.

If u wan iphone with real GPS, might need to wait for the 2nd gen iphone that is to be release on june.
Its not sure whether it wil have a real gps not the current suck gps,but that's only rumour..
