Out of topic question, can you hand carry a guitar into a plane?

I've been hand-carrying my guitars on to Malaysia Airlines flights between KL and LA for 3 times now and have not encountered any problems so far.

I would guess it depends on how stringent the airline is toward hand-carry baggage. MAS is pretty relaxed about it as long as you act decent enough.

One tip I would suggest though is try to board the plane as quickly as possible so you have all the space you want in the overhead bins.

I hand-carried my ZWLP from LA to KL in a Soft case. Not a problem. If you check in, make sure you have a DAMN DAMN DAMN good Hard Case if you value your guitar. If you're thinking about the hard case that came with the guitar? There is a strong chance that your guitar CAN get damaged.

But Moses, did you carry it in a hard case or a soft case? I wanted to hand-carry a hard case, but I read that they only allowed soft-case.

I have called up Cathay, they don't allow hand carry guitar I'm totally regret to book from Cathay!!!
