I've been hand-carrying my guitars on to Malaysia Airlines flights between KL and LA for 3 times now and have not encountered any problems so far.
I would guess it depends on how stringent the airline is toward hand-carry baggage. MAS is pretty relaxed about it as long as you act decent enough. One tip I would suggest though is try to board the plane as quickly as possible so you have all the space you want in the overhead bins. Let me know if you have anymore questions. |

I hand-carried my ZWLP from LA to KL in a Soft case. Not a problem. If you check in, make sure you have a DAMN DAMN DAMN good Hard Case if you value your guitar. If you're thinking about the hard case that came with the guitar? There is a strong chance that your guitar CAN get damaged.
But Moses, did you carry it in a hard case or a soft case? I wanted to hand-carry a hard case, but I read that they only allowed soft-case. |
