QUOTE(derred @ Apr 25 2008, 01:44 PM) from my previous post; if I am installing from ThumbDrive by using this http://www.i64x.com/eeexp.php guide, what are the steps that I should skip or change in order to make it works with thumbdrive installation? Thank you in advance. installing from disc and thumbdrive no different. just the procedure of preparing the bootable USB drive a bit hassle if u use nLite, remember to uncheck Manual Installation option in older thread. i repeat the process few times just because of this, when i already know at the first place...

QUOTE(vailance @ Apr 25 2008, 03:34 PM) Linux ver is 20GB and win ver is 12GB? pls tell us more lol.. Edit: googled d.. ya win is 12gb nia.. lol i rather go linux 20gb. But the secondary 16g(linux ver) ssd had lower read/write speed than the onboard 4gb ssd. hmm.. wonder when malaysia launch?? *scratch hand* think of buying lol.. afaik, those 16GB SSD same spec with 8GB SSD on eeePC 8GB.

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Apr 25 2008, 05:18 PM) Gua tarak paham what u say leh? i meant 8GB SSD used in older eeePC 701 8GB suppose to be same type as 16GB SSD used in newer model. eeePC use two types of storage memory. onboard 4GB flash memory and SSD that occupy PCIE

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Apr 28 2008, 09:14 AM) What's the max SDHC that is possible to be read by the Eee PC900? Any idea? SDHC standard allow theoretically 32GB. as long as the slot is SDHC compliant, it will accept all SDHC card.

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Apr 28 2008, 01:25 PM) Just spamming here but "compliant" is always a relative term. We have to consider the fact that Asus never advertised or put in writing that the card reader is SDHC compliant. Real SDHC compliant card readers (which they have to pay money for the logo) are $$$ to continue spamming , i found out that eeePC actually DOESNT have actual SDHC slot. they just tweak the IC of the SD reader to accept SDHC. that's is why eeePC killed many SDHC. check eeeuser forum for detail

QUOTE(FlamingIT @ Apr 28 2008, 08:46 PM) u mean it will burn the sdhc card? it depend on batch of eeePC. some report problem, some dont. it doesnt burn it, it kill it prematurely. 4,8,16Gb no different. most people encounter write/read error but that can be fixed easily by OC

QUOTE(iphonegizmo @ May 2 2008, 02:12 AM) have anyone installed any of these on eepc900? dual boot xp with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard [ToH]-RC2 SSE3/SSE2 Intel Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2 whuich more stable..? with my 2gb ram IIRC, both not worth installing. only waste time. but 10.4.8 should be more efficient on eeePC. both need patch (again, iirc) since eeePC is celeron powered

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ May 5 2008, 08:36 AM) Depending on the launch price and the actual battery life but I think the Wind should be a better contender since its got a big keyboard and support regular 2.5" HDD bigger keyboard meant bigger area to add stuff in. not forgetting 2.5" 320GB hdd for prawn problem is when Wind gonna come?

QUOTE(Godek @ May 9 2008, 02:08 AM) This is the screenshot cannot provide actual Asus EEEPC picture in action because not around here, just remotely only. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « That is my Asus EEEPC Black equip with 500GB external do a 24/7 job act as a download machine. Now, currently remote control it from my resident college to my house. Tomorrow will going back home (Bentong, Pahang). So, I will remote control my Asus EEEPC for about a month (Till June 08). for heavy prawning task ah? eeePC is good for torrenting since it's low power notebook. can even be used as server if want. my only wish is eeePC come with higher resolution. even the size of 7in is ok to me. QUOTE(estara @ May 16 2008, 03:18 PM) I'm planning to go to Singapore soon and maybe go visit Sim Lim to check out the Eee PC 900. Anyone knows the latest price now in S'pore? Better to get myself well informed so I won't be cheated. Actually I already have a notebook and a home pc but I need a very light notebook to bring it everywhere with me for work purposes. My work mainly needs me to use the internet, not much besides that. You guys think it's a good choice to get this? How do I check that the battery is 5800 mAh and not 4400 mAh? eeePC is a good choice for secondary laptop. no frill and shock resistant. Asus, Singapore provide free swap if the eeePC u buy is 4400 mAh but quite a hassle if u stay in Msia

QUOTE(wKkaY @ May 18 2008, 08:49 AM) I'm currently using my EEE to do casual ebook reading on-the-go. Still haven't setup PPP on it so I can't use 3G yet.. but it should be soon The battery life is really a big problem - it doesn't feel like I'm getting 2 hours out of this thing. Besides, it drains battery very quickly while under suspend mode. my battery easily last me 3 hours+ of movies at 40% brightness, earphone and 600Mhz. using 5400mAh battery for battery drain in suspend mode, google for C3 mode

QUOTE(yusiang @ Jun 3 2008, 05:30 PM) Bloody hell, I seriously wonder why asus wanted to launch 900 if they know 901 is coming less than 1.5 months later. If I am in US now, i would probably RMA and get my refund, damn it! I rugi banyak lah. that's the risk/fact u have to bear in order to be among the 1st to get it
