Hey,

Just made my first "MOD" today, I made a charger cable connected to my desktop PC, since my PC is on all the time I might as well use the 12V to charge my eeePC. That way I won't forget to leave it at home when I charge at night. Over at forum.eeeuser.com I was advised to add in a 2A fuse just in case.  tongue.gif

Well it is charging my eeePC 901 now and the original charger is in the bag.  rclxms.gif

YES.

That what is printed on the charger and I measured it with a multi-meter to confirm. At least on my eeepc 901, I cannot say for the 701 and the 900 so for those that have a 701 or 900 better check before running to make one. We do not want a smoking 701 or 900  blush.gif

hoho. coz can use adapter lo. Im thinking of modding my own cooling fan. n going to use swith adapter( yet to be found, forgot where put) as some says it is 12V. so can make a new adapter for epc. ftw!

ha, fortunately I have slender hands. Not much fumbling on my EEEPc 701. It's working great! smile.gif

Also, it beats my old Vaio if I want to carry it around. My old VAIO (athlon xp) is so heavy that it's like working out on your arms!!

ooo.. I like they make bigger keyboard. I dont care epc small screen as it should! Lulzz.. the purpose is small + mobility.

Hi,

I have some good news, just peak at the latest July price list for the Asus eeePC.

The Asus 900 is target RM 1,399/= (XPH)
The Asus 901 is target RM 1,699/= (here is the catch, battery is 4 cell similar with the 900 XPH)
The Asus 1000H is tartet Rm 1,999/= (6 cell battery Linux)

damn..... I should have waited .... hehehe and I paid 2K for but with a 6 cell battery & no warranty. Ahh.... the price we paid for being the first.

STOCK???? well that my friend I got no idea.

Good day All

MSI Wind available in Malaysia already? Sry didnt notice that.

Michael, u said that MSI Wind is 1kg, ur quoting this with 3 Cell or 6 cell battery?

I hv read a site comparison btw, Wing and 1000H, 1000H win once ie the processor/graphic is better than the Wind. Where else Wind won for battery/size and etc.....Guess Processor/graphic is quite important too

rclxub.gif Waiting for this 2 gadget to be in Penang, so that can personally test it

Anyone have seen it in Penang?

Old Town White Coffee Cafe did offer cozy Wifi environment yet far cheaper than Starbucks. Cheras outlet open 24hours.

If Mc'D have Wifi then it is a great blessing.

Update d Bios? What is d pros to update it when my 901 is running great. I heard those from d forum said Bios 1202 got another bug. These Bios still unstable at d moment, i might only update it when it is stable.

By d way,jus to share wif u guys. Putting 901 in Standby mode was great. No heat when Standby unless it had run programs used b4 going to Standby. It only consume roughly 1.5% of your battery per hour! No need Shut Down or Hibernate, instant access.
Advisable to customized Time b4 Standby at Power Management.

Hi,
Thinking of getting a spare external hdd for  eee Pc 1000H.

Got confused of SATA N PATA, what is the diff if used externally for backup purpose ?

just want to get the cheapest possible, even with 40gb second hand.

Anyone mind to share ?
*
If Im not mistaken, PATA = IDE?

Different interface. Casing different la.

SATA more faster but for normal usage, speed same only. External hdd (2.5 inch) are IDE interface. Mostly lower storage space.

thanks a lot.. this is the clear version for lady which have 0% knowledge about computer....

got things to ask:
1.  do we have to install full version of xp, then only start installing nlite?
2. can i install nlite in my desktop first?  because i saw too much useless things in my computer with i dun think i need it.

if there is any problem in installing the nlite, can i ask here?

thanks a lot first.
*
well, the nlite software, which is is free, only run in windows, so either you install full windows and install nlite and use it or you install nlite and make the slim down xp on others notebook or dekstop pc.

there is is no problem smile.gif

Super intro step
1. Download nlite xp
2. Run in a Windows pc/notebook/desktop
3. Make the .iso/image
4. Burn it.
5. Install the slim down xp like install normal windows disk

smile.gif

This is the main thing I made a website like that

If nlite n  xp needed to be installed in windows environment. Can we install additional copy of xp  in sd memory card
just in case xp got corrupted and we switch to memory card to boot up xp first.

Then again, we use just nlite to instal xp to sdd or hdd.

The reason is we do not have external  cd rom, and do not know whether eee pc  can run on networking without xp  [ if corrupted ]

Anyone mind to share ?
*
erm, I dont quite understand what you are saying but I try

1. nlitexp is a software to slim down xp installation.
2. nlitexp must be install and run in Windows. I havent read if in linux
3. After slim down the xp, you will get an .iso file, an image file. That is the xp installation image that have been slimed/squeezed.

In order to install/boot using memory card is another question yet I havent know. Coz I burned the image file on cd and it became a Windows cd and I use it with my desktop optical drive as external optical drive.

To install to memory card and boot = I will find later this evening.
